What has TSA ALPA said about this?
It probably is open to anyone who is ERJ qualified and meets those mins.. I think they were just targeting CHQ because they are being merged into Shuttle America and will probably be completely finished next year sometime.

Union said hell no? There was no CBA at Colgan and never was. I didn't realize that a new union with nothing had that sort of bargaining power. That's kind of cool.
Really? When was your CBA ratified? Mesaba had one, pinnacle did. I never even saw yours.Uhm... There absolutely was a JCBA at Colgan.
Our union had a much different relationship with management than other airlines, and after you plant one in the ground management tends to listen to the safety committee / training committee / MEC when they say "we don't find that safe."
I'm sure @Seggy can shed more light on it.
I just figured out what you meant. You're counting the JCBA as your CBA. When you said the union said no you were referring after the JCBA.Uhm... There absolutely was a JCBA at Colgan.

Meh. I'd rather be an XJT FO than a trans states captain.
If the goal is to get to a career carrier, that's probably a short-sighted way of looking at it.
I had a lot of pride in Mesaba man, but things change. Mesaba guys vacated Endeavor by flow or moving on, brain drain on the union side and the line. You might look around someday and wonder where the hell everyone went. I hope you're on your way by then.I doubt it. I have some pride in my work and most of all, my pilot group.

ASA is a good group, a proud group, XJT is a great bunch from what I've seen (the little I've seen). If your bottom of the list bails from stagnation you might find yourself wishing you'd left earlier.
You gotta do what feels right, but I'd hate to see you stick around and not be rewarded for it. There are companies out there that can do more for you. I'm rooting for you either way.
Understood. Hoping for the best for you.We have our bad apples for sure. And I feel the ERJ side is off the reservation in terms of expectations from a contract. I really don't blame the company for saying "yeah, we can't afford to do that flying."
But both sides of the pilot group are some of the best in the industry.
I also have a couple friends, who I trust greatly, that jumpseat on them frequently. They use the terms "cowboys" and "smoking hole" a lot more than usual.
Plus given work rules and pay rates, I don't see senior FO pay here being that much worse than junior captain pay there, which is why I do this. To pay the bills.
I doubt it. I have some pride in my work and most of all, my pilot group.
Well, remember that "our" pilot group is not necessarily the "pilot group" most impacted by this.
Granted, this shouldn't be of any amazingly-news for anyone at XJT. This was coming. These aircraft were not going to be sticking around.
That said, I am very optimistic that there is some good news around the corner for one side of the XJT house. Only time will tell though.
I actually did this as a Brasilia FO this summer at the current employer.I had a lot of pride in Mesaba man, but things change. Lol. Yeah it's amazing, how quick it goes.I actually did this as a Brasilia FO this summer at the current employer.
"What...what...where did all my Captain and LCA friends go?"
