Re: Throwing fuel on the SDL airport noise fire...
Someone builds a housing complex on a three mile final from a pre-existing airport and wants sympathy?
But the blame lies a lot with the Scottsdale city council as well. Even after realizing that allowing a developer to build on a three mile final, they went ahead last year and approved development of luxury homes on 'base to final', near some high voltage power lines. We're talking homes *starting* at $700,000 for the el cheapos so you know they're going to be grumpy from working too much or have all the time on their hands to call in tail numbers.
Chances are, not only will we get more noise complaints, people will start complaining about the deleterioius health effects of living near power lines and want them buried underground.
Lovely area, lovely mountains, fantastic appreciation of my home's value, but if any area would benefit from a catastophic event like "Night Of The Comet", it's got to be North Scottsdale.
