Watch out for Benedict Bass (which rhymes nicely with a$$), looks like he'd sell out his fellow aviators in a heart beat.
Near where I grew up there was a Hog farm. The farm didn't keep anyone from buying a house in the "New subdivision" but they sure raised a stink about it once the moved in. (No pun intended)
People Suck.

I'm writing to the Arizona Pilot's association (of which Arv Shultz is President and SDL City Councilman Bob Littlefield is Central AZ head of legislative affairs) about the troubling comments by Mr. Bass. If it's his intention to sell other pilots down-river (in this case jet pilots, and I tend to include military jets in this), then I'm going to raise holy-hell about this too.

Councilman Littlefield,
Capt. Mike Daftarian here. You may remember me from the 31 March noise studies meeting at Grayhawk Elementary school, I'm the A-10 pilot from Davis-Monthan AFB.
I'm writing about the attached article where Mr. Steve Bass, listed as the membership chairman for APA, makes the comments about "I'd actually go along with kicking them out" regards jet-aircraft at SDL. Is that the official position of the APA? Because if so, I'd have a serious problem with pilots back-stabbing other pilots regards the SDL noise issue. If that's the way Mr. Bass, or the APA in general, feels about jet aircraft, then I'd have to wonder if that animosity extends to military aircraft operations at SDL also. And if so, that would be troubling news to me, as it should be to all pilots involved in the current issues surrounding KSDL.
As pilots, we need to stick together. Division of the kind that Mr. Bass demonstrates is harmful not only to the airport's future itself, but to the teamwork and camraderie of the pilot community utilizing KSDL as a whole. The Arizona Pilots Association is supposed to be representative of the interests of all Arizona pilots, not just light-aircaft pilots. A pilot flying a corporate jet for a SDL based company, is just as much an Arizona Pilot as would be a GA pilot flying his 172 out of KSDL.
I write my comments to you, Councilman Littlefield, because I have no contact information to write Mr. Bass directly. It would be very appreciated if you could take the time to address this issue.
Kind Regards,
Mike Daftarian
