The Payback Day Massacre

I’d not accuse my fellow pilots of anything, but I’ve also never heard a peep in 2 years about calling in sick which I do when I’m…you know…sick. Just did it a few days ago as a matter of fact

I've seen people openly brag about calling in fatigued almost on a monthly basis for schedule improvement.

I figure the truth is someplace in the middle of the company sending out a tragically-worded memo and the angriest pilots demanding we shut down the operation because "I can be sick and still non-rev to MCO to go to Disney with my family, how DARE they question me"

The day they announced that they were temporarily halting the contractual sick leave tracking my FO immediately started planning his future sick calls.

Obviously the company is still tracking all the sick calls. They just can't use that data for PWA tracking purposes. I guarantee if this data hasn't already been used it will in upcoming Section 6 negotiations if the union tries to get more relaxed sick rules again.

Pilots are their own enemies.
