I've seen people openly brag about calling in fatigued almost on a monthly basis for schedule improvement.

I figure the truth is someplace in the middle of the company sending out a tragically-worded memo and the angriest pilots demanding we shut down the operation because "I can be sick and still non-rev to MCO to go to Disney with my family, how DARE they question me"

The day they announced that they were temporarily halting the contractual sick leave tracking my FO immediately started planning his future sick calls.

Obviously the company is still tracking all the sick calls. They just can't use that data for PWA tracking purposes. I guarantee if this data hasn't already been used it will in upcoming Section 6 negotiations if the union tries to get more relaxed sick rules again.

Pilots are their own enemies.

I can guarantee you it will magically come back up.

It's the "lets give them all the rope they'd like, then hang them with it"
 
Funny how in recent news about good weather cancelations management has been complaining to news outlets about pilots not picking up premium flying like in the past. It is as if there may have been some sort of change that has occurred that has significantly reduced the incentive to pick up premium flying...
 
We have ONE person over here that thinks this will cause you guys to have a TA in the next 25 days...ONE person. Unfortunately, he has the ear of many, the ego worse than Billy Ballroom in DC and the IQ of a gnat. He thinks your magical TA in the next 25 days will cause OUR management to open the up the checkbook on an already-signed TA.

The chances of us signing a TA in the next 25 days is slim to none. Not with what’s going on in the Middle East.

He must know the first FO I just had on my trip. He spent all day trying to convince me that “someone from the union” told him we would have a TA with a 20% raise by the end of the month.

Look, I know young guys with long sleeves and a stache can be a little weird but dude needs to take the tinfoil lining out of his hat. Or put it in, I’m not sure on how that works.

I had one FO say the same thing the other day in the van. 20% raise for us to give up OOBWS. He was a 16,500 seniority number. Just kept my mouth shut.
