I'd go Quagmire if I were there for that. Especially if the cute TSA agent was Asian too.

When I did my Air New Zealand internship, we took over the check-in counter from Air China every shift. Only job I was always early for.

Only dealt with that once and I was out the door and done with the trip as soon as we got to the next airport (an outstation no less).

Ain't nobody got time for that.

I left an aircraft over a disagreement over a maintenance issue where the captain said, "I'm captain, WE'RE GOING!"

"Ok. Not a problem at all. I'm not comfortable and I'm going into the terminal to release myself from the trip".

Then about we get a SATCOM from dispatch who told us that we weren't legal.

The cost of getting me back on the jet was an apology and dinner on the layover.

Worked like a charm. The beer was cold, the captains "crow", apparently, was delicious and I had a great chat with my captain mentor about it.

I have about five or six senior captains on speed dial from which I occasionally seek guidance just to be sure I'm not becoming "that guy".

You should be doing this twice a week! Free dinner and cold beer? Come on man!!!!! Up the ante.

Thinking about using this situation myself, at my professional locale!!
