Stop screwing up with Atlantic crossings….

I was flying on the 5th (the day after Gander swapped over to the new procedure). Lots of international crews were asking for clarification on their clearance. Didn’t hear much from US airlines so I guess we’re reading a little better. Also, I believe “resume normal speed” isn’t a thing anymore. That went away with the oceanic clearance

Airline pilots sit doing nothing and watching the autopilot fly, as there is nothing to see outside on ocean crossings. How hard is it for some of these guys to properly follow three 3-step checklists? 😂

Well, I mean, we have kids who think you can see the Eiffel Tower from London who are now flying heavies across the ocean.

I mean, they let me do crossings on my goddamned OE, and since then also I have never had a gross navigation error. It can't be that hard. Or I guess it is?

Yeah but you had adult supervision
This is true. Sufficient paranoia was instilled into me that, having been away from it for only a few months, I’m going to crack the Airway Manual if I do wind up going back that way though.

The removal of the clearances is great and all, but the RCL process still being in place is an obvious opportunity for doofusing.
