Stop messing with certificates

I’ll volunteer.

Encryption making people “mad” is a false narrative.

Personally, through life experience, it sounds like a spouse coming home with a box of 45 electrical outlet covers on your day off and saying ‘we’re going to a new stainless steel look I saw online, all the pilot wives are doing it!”

Now, you’re going to work your ass off all day, maybe two days changing them from off-white to that “new” stainless steel look.

At the end of the day, you’ve blown a crap-ton of time, literally gained no extra utility and simply satisfied, maybe, strangers online IF she brought the proper brand that pleases them.

Having my certificates and medicals on “blockchain” does absolutely nothing other than please some tech bro who wrote an article for “Wired” and creates a potential for unforeseen problems.

There, not fear, not anger, just my middle aged “That shark is not nearest the boat, it’s in a whole different ocean”

All I really care about is:

Do I have to travel with paper certificates that my AME prints out and signs? That’s digitized by my employer for record keeping? But can not be replaced without getting another medical exam?

I guess I’m a bad person for saying it out loud. But for the love of F can this madness end?

Also you guys should be praying that BTC goes to 400K so you’d never have to hear from me ever again for the rest of your lives. Not getting excited about BTC crashing. Because then you’ll have to hear about my real world experiences at my constantly shrinking place of employment… which is again, horrible for me to say out loud, or something.

Incorrect. You can get a duplicate without an exam. There’s also another angle to take a bite of this apple and receive an email with duplicate certificates from the Airman branch that includes authorization to exercise privileges with that copy.

I'll take another hack. I read that and I see someone who's invested heavily in techbros, even by proxy, and is now astroturfing to pimp the share price.

There is a low, but non-zero chance that BC/crypto gets hacked by someone who is really, really smart and/or really, really sneaky, and then caterwauling the likes of which you have never seen will commence. It will make the S&L crisis look like a bully stealing your lunch money.

I lost mine, my company printed both for me until my permanents arrived. Took five minutes

I’m sorry if I said anything that indicated that I thought you were a bad person apart from believing that a wholesale dive into “blockchain” is solving a problem that isn’t there while creating other problems that may be unforeseen. I don’t think it’s a good idea or use of resources. Good people have bad ideas all the time. The Beatles, Coca Cola, Apple, my brother who dumped his last girlfriend because she “cared for him too much?!”

I literally, and I mean literally, do not follow cryptocurrency. Like less than zero interest.

“Hawk Tuah Coin ENTERS THE CHAT!” :) LOL

Well, the (…checks thread topic, man, I’m engaging in thread creep, sorry!) fly in the ointment that traditional capital markets are manipulated by “true wealth” and we little people scamper around with our charters, forecasts and Barons reports cosplaying like we know where the market is going in order to feel better about ourselves. How many pilots are GLUED to Jim Cramer in the lounge? LOL

The crypto markets are our traditional markets on steroids without the oversight.

It’s Amway, everyone is trying to reproduce the ‘win’ the other guy got that we all know because it seems tangible and doable. Probable? Nope. Possible? Sure.

I only know one person that the cryptocurrency thing worked out for. He got in early, literally mined the coins on his GeForce card(s) (2), and got out when the valuation was spectacular the first time through. It was enough to carry him through some lean times post-XJT.

But yeah. Everyone else is just the greater fool in BTC.

So much this. The best the pesants can do is ride the wave, because it is 100% out of your control. Anything you read in the "retail" press is made specifically for your consumption. Even the "next level" stuff is someone's guesswork. It's basically gambling.

The only way to win is to run your own shop.

Honestly, don't care if we go digital. Just need to get the proper infrastructure and the rest of the world involved first.

BTC going higher will only cause more problems IMO. There is literally no reason for the BTC demand other than the hopes and dreams of it "going to the moon." If it crashes you are left with literally nothing and if the price doesn't change you can't really do anything with it. At least with stocks you progressively get a larger and larger share of a company with actual physical assets and votes that can influence the operations of said company.

People like to compare it with stocks but crypto is literally just the worst of the stock market all lumped into one place. BTC is essentially setting up to be the next .com crash. Literally no reason exists for the demand beyond speculation. Every time anyone brings this up you will see catch phrases and words like "FUD" being thrown around because it is only intended to fuel the speculation. Literally a scam.

I believe in block chain and how it can revolutionize our world. I also appreciate @derg a whole lot. However, my experience with losing my medical was much more nightmarish.

I got the class one and stupidly misplaced the paper copy the same day. After 2-3 frantic days of searching for said original copy with signature. I threw in the towel and AME who issued my class one was like: “bruh I can’t issue a new one for 3 months.” Get F-Ed. Employer said your temporary is good for 60 days, retard.” 30 day overhang of no work.

Hit up my dad, an AME. He called OKC and helped straighten it all out. Got a new class 1.

Turns out not everyone has this privilege…. Anyway.

Would have been nice if I didn’t have to keep my original signed copy around. If it was just made valid for 6 months via blockchain. We good.

This is all much different than BTC. Don’t really want to discuss it with people full of hatred and vitriol.

But like fr fr yall want to look at this chart and tell me it’s going to zero?
