Stop messing with certificates

I believe in block chain and how it can revolutionize our world. I also appreciate @derg a whole lot. However, my experience with losing my medical was much more nightmarish.

I got the class one and stupidly misplaced the paper copy the same day. After 2-3 frantic days of searching for said original copy with signature. I threw in the towel and AME who issued my class one was like: “bruh I can’t issue a new one for 3 months.” Get F-Ed. Employer said your temporary is good for 60 days, retard.” 30 day overhang of no work.

Hit up my dad, an AME. He called OKC and helped straighten it all out. Got a new class 1.

Turns out not everyone has this privilege…. Anyway.

Would have been nice if I didn’t have to keep my original signed copy around. If it was just made valid for 6 months via blockchain. We good.

This is all much different than BTC. Don’t really want to discuss it with people full of hatred and vitriol.

But like fr fr yall want to look at this chart and tell me it’s going to zero?

It's going to zero. End of.

I honestly can't wait till the entire thing crashes. It is 100% speculation and is doomed to fail. The only question is, how long will take? When will people realize there is literally zero substance in buying a Bitcoin?
I agree with you but I just wanted to check you know what fiat currency is, right?

Well, for example the US Dollar is a currency that's backed by 11 aircraft carriers, among other things. Bitcoin is backed by ... nerds and bagholders saying it's intrinsically valuable
If anything the dollar is held up by oil. Once we go to world wide EVs we will see how much the dollar is really worth.

Not exactly. The dollar is held up by the inherent nature of the good ole' US of A, of which oil is only a proxy. That's because the US does a LOT of other stuff, almost all of which facilitated by oil, but should we transition away from it, oh well, life goes on, and we keep doing what we do anyway.

Let's say that Keanu Reeves actually figures out the proper frequencies for stable sonoluminescence, evades Morgan Freeman's thugs, but instead of releasing it out on the interwebz, he and Rachel Weisz decide to go into business for themselves with Kevin Dunn, since Fred Ward is dead (may he RIP). Cheap, clean energy for everyone.

You still need oil for lots of things: polymers, fertilizers, roads, fuel oil for ships, fuel for, well, everything else but power generation because Daniel Shipstone hasn't invented the darn thing yet, and batteries still blow for the most part in the big scheme of things. The Seven Sisters take a big, big haircut, but they still need to pump the stuff, just not as much.

The economy in the US continues along just fine because that's where stuff happens.

A lot of places in the world won't be as lucky.

Now I’m going to have to dig out some Heinlein…

All I really care about is:

Do I have to travel with paper certificates that my AME prints out and signs? That’s digitized by my employer for record keeping? But can not be replaced without getting another medical exam?

I guess I’m a bad person for saying it out loud. But for the love of F can this madness end?

Also you guys should be praying that BTC goes to 400K so you’d never have to hear from me ever again for the rest of your lives. Not getting excited about BTC crashing. Because then you’ll have to hear about my real world experiences at my constantly shrinking place of employment… which is again, horrible for me to say out loud, or something.
Dude, why are you so miserable about everything all the time?

Fiat currency is backed by nothing. A promise. That's it. There are many economists that say the only reason the dollar still has any value is because oil is traded in USD. When that changes, I recommend knowing how to hunt.

I do know what it is. The difference here is that BTC isn't actually a currency as it was intended. It is considered an investment due to the deflationary status of the "coin." Using it to trade goods would only cause you to lose out on opportunity costs down the road.

Currencies that are well regulated allow people to to have a good middle ground when trading for goods. This is especially good when your economic output is seasonal. Backing currency with stuff like gold didn't really do anything other than kick the arbitrary bucket down the road.

Stop playing the London is unsafe schtick. The worst you can get is tutted.
It's amazing flying with these 'tough guys' but nearly all of them are afraid to get out and really explore. Don't worry, it isn't just London they are afraid of.

Did a 7 mile walkabout in Shanghai the other day and 'crossed the river' which was apparently extra very scary. Then heads nearly exploded when I also told them I also did it the night before.
