Spirit

I applied about 3 months ago, I think I might apply again and see.
I never got a call and I've heard of people without pic getting hired so it's one of those places where you need to know someone.
 
So.... What happened. Also anyone know if we don't know anyone there how to get a foot in the door. Thanks in advance. Nick
 
I'd make the move to Spirit.. regional flying doesn't have the job security and who knows? In 10 yrs your current regional could lose its flying and its easier to move and start over in your early 30s with younger children than in your early 40s with teenagers with college payments right around the corner? Just my 2 cents though, good luck in your decision!
 
Just to put a different outlook on it. I know you will take a pay cut and you say that you have always dreamed of working at a legacy. Now ask yourself "what equipment am I flying now?" and "what equipment will I fly at Spirit?'
I know a few guys there that all love it but lets say you went and you didn't like it. That airbus type and experience looks a whole lot better on a resume to put you ahead of the game to get into one of your "dream companies" than RJ time doesn't it?

You need to go to a job fair and meet w/ the HR personnel directly. This is the only way people are being called at the moment....that's straight from the HR people.

I am in need of some advice I applied to spirit with 3750 now have close to 3800 I see they dropped their mins to 3k I am thinking of waiting till I hit 4k to apply to the new lower mins. Good idea or bad idea?

You're probably right for the most part. However, I was booked on a flight by my company, the flight was cancelled, and the melee that ensued for all the stranded passengers was not inspiring to say the least.
 
I would rather be Seggy than Jtrain. Just in general.

As for Spirit vs. a regional? Spirit. Every day Spirit. Even with weird frog-planes that computers won't let you actually fly - Spirit.

My question is this: There is JC, APC and some others. Not many though. Upcoming interviews, etc have to be pretty easy to figure out. What is the overall value of making a post that says anything other than "OMG! I can't believe I got my DREAM interview! SQUEEEE!!!1"? Seriously - my advice to anyone would be - keep this kind of thing off the internet, keep it among friends you actually know and do NOT express anything publicly other than excitement at the opportunity. That's just my opinion, but I'm probably right - if I saw this just the indecision would make me go for someone else probably.
 
Update: Interviews on going. Two classes per month indefinitely. 8-10 per class. You have to get to a job fair to have any chance at an interview (the next one they'll be at is the AeroCrew Solutions one in ORD in May). Outside of DTW you can hold any base within 2-3 months, DTW is more like 6 currently. DFW is the growing base. All sim training should be in FLL by mid April.
