Spirit Moving Office

They merging with Allegiant or something?

That’s the only other airline that has their OCC in LAS I believe

Its long been rumored Allegiant is going to buy somebody. They are hoarding an excessive amount of cash (could be anticipating a market downturn, could be throwing those dollars at another airline, could be none of the above.)

I have heard everything from buying Frontier, to buying Sun Country, to as polar as Spirit buying Allegiant.

Lets just hope, if either scenario happens, a lot of people refuse to move so I sky-rocket up in seniority haha.

They bought that a while ago and told their own employees it was to be used as a back up because it wasn’t big enough to move into. Where are you getting this?

What we do know is MG went on a profane rant last week and is rolling the dice on an ROI off buying stadium naming rights. He also owns under 3 million shares of Allegiant, the lowest he has held in a long time.

I've heard that too. People I know there have talked about Orlando, Atlanta, and even Nashville recently. I'll believe it when there's an official announcement.

If all the rumors at 9E came true, we'd have moved to Atlanta, be dispatching 175s on the west coast, and have mainline flight benefits and profit sharing. Some people were even trying to spread the rumor that we would eventually merge with Delta. Yeah, OK.

Every time there is a hurricane they have to relocate their occ to DTW. Years ago when they were a much smaller operation it was no big. I heard the last hurricane cost the company 20 million to move everybody north.

That number has gotta be inflated. Even if they had to move 200 people north, that would be $100,000 per person. I'm thinking maybe the entire economic impact to the company including cancellations, crews, etc could be $20M in a hurricane, but it surely doesn't cost them that much to get hotels for a couple hundred people and pay some overtime. If it does cost them $20 million to relocate OCC for a week or so, then there should probably be some people out of jobs over there as they are obviously not living the ULCC lifestyle.

They move the occ and their families and pets. They also put the people who stay behind in hotels near occ so they can keep occ open until DTW is ready and then they are close to open it back up when the storm has passed. They operate at least 4 repos to move all these people. All flights fully staffed with FAs due to amount of people. Food, hotels and transportation to and from hotels to back up occ. over time. Double time. Per Diems. Maybe it’s not 20 million. But it’s high enough to where they are giving serious consideration to moving their occ out of Florida
