Southwest To Lower Minimums?

Do you think you weren't good enough, 1 year ago, to be a 737 FO, at 15TPIC (whatever skyway got you)

I think that's the point.

Also, isn't @Trip7 first MTPIC gig going to be on a 717?

So again, in my best Hillary voice, "what difference does it make?"

A year ago I had a lot more than just 15 hours of PIC.

My point is that by reducing the TPIC requirement, you got from "X" amount of applicants in your pool to "X+Y" and that's maybe what they're looking at.

Did the target applicants dry up? I don't know. Did "big data" show they were missing out on good applicants by having the requirement? I don't know.

Sometimes it is what it is. If you want to work there, apply.

My friend says, and I quote "don't try to figure it out because all you're going to do is frustrate yourself"

Also, what does a Delta A320, full of passengers, have in common with Spirits A320, full of passengers?

160 happy passengers!

Have you seen the post-config 320's?

The only thing it has in common with Spirit is a type rating. Sheesh, when did you go to work for UAL? :)

Clearly not qualified to be a SWA FO.

Get some more Southernjets Captain time, and re-apply in 6 months.

Nope!

That's alright though. Sometimes I question if my employer would even hire me these days, ha! :) And the funny thing is th… aww nevermind.

Well, my point was more that 1 hour TPIC is just as un-reachable as 1000 is. This is especially true for regional FO types. All this being said I have well over 1000TPIC, line check airman, clean record etc etc and my phone aint ringing.

Late night eating on VA avenue? It's all about the country ham, two eggs over easy and medium hashed browns at Waffle House. Then Spondivits for a "warhammer" o' beer.
no, thai heaven is where it's at. Followed by La Fiesta.

Really? I missed that thread. Nope. It can happen anywhere. One of our bases has a lot of guys who fly together frequently, so they have a ton of procedural drift going on. The company is aware, but it's really hard to combat procedural drift with an unsupervised workforce. Especially if the people in that base take pride in noncompliance, and call themselves the "rebel base." Thankfully, that base doesn't fly into South America where our highest risk flying is...oh wait...

Even when I worked at AMF we had line audits. It was really easy to figure out who wasn't following SOP because they couldn't remember how the orginating flow went.

Could anyone tell me if hired today when one would be able to hold MCO as an FO?

Not too long ago, it was a 1 or 2 year wait for MCO.

But I started training January 20, and two guys from my class are in MCO starting June 1st.

So currently, the wait is a few months. Hope this helps.
