It's more than that IMO... I have a two month gap between jobs over 12 years ago, and I went to community college for two years before transferring to a 4 year engineering school. So I took 6 years to graduate. I was working my way through school, but apparently that's going to be held against me? Why??
You're absolutely right Mike. It's not like me to complain like that, and I guess I just needed a quick vent. Thanks man.
Don't get yourself into that death spiral of being discouraged and comparing yourself to other people who've been hired. This stuff is all voodoo. It will all work out as it is supposed to, just be prepared for when it is your turn.
I know it gets disheartening when you hear or see others moving onto a legacy but don't stop trying. I will know next month if I will ever get back to flying and apply to a legacy or be grounded. Just like anything else in life, control the things that you can and don't worry about the rest. I think there are plenty of people on here who would help you through to the next step. Keep doing what you are doing and don't stop networking.
I incorporated. 8). If you did a schedule C did you put something different then your name? I just like it with the same time period.Autothrust Blue said:I'd like to know how to list substantiated self-employment on AirlineApps, that is concurrent with and unrelated to my primary job as a distributor ofhighmedium-speed aerial aluminum.
This is just the incipient rising swell of the hiring tsunami that is coming. Patience grasshopper, your time is coming and will come when you least expect it.

Sorry if I made anyone feel old.

I don't find it disheartening. If anything it's motivation for me. I do have problems when slackers are the first to move on (like the CA I flew with that was three jepps behind but had moved on to stage two of interviewing at a LCC.
But for those who work for it and move on despite not being quite as experienced, I say good for them. At least they're earning their jobs vs. just waiting in line.
I have gone back and forth regarding what to do. I think for certain companies it's probably ok and for others it might be looked against your application. What have any of you alpa volunteers done for that? Are you listing it as volunteering, not mentioning it or what? I mean, volunteering is volunteering and that's all I've been able to do.

This one time, I flew 4 legs with both the coffeemaker AND the autopilot MEL'd!One thing I had to keep reminding myself is that other people will have better stories. You can't top the guy who led a platoon of Army Rangers to save the town from approaching terrorists who has a Medal of Honor. No way no how.
Flight should of been canceled. No coffee. No go.Roger Roger said:This one time, I flew 4 legs with both the coffeemaker AND the autopilot MEL'd!
