Some Resume' Advice for you guys...

I know that this topic is not very serious and is quite hold too but I absolutely need to ask this question and I'd rather ask it here than start a new thread.

So, a while ago I talked to some job agencies that work in my country and they put such an emphasis on email address format and its domain. Nothing wrong with gmail, nothing wrong with yahoo either. What about gmx?

Anyway, the real question is what would it look like if I put two numbers in my email address? My current email is initialfirstname.lastname92@gmail.com.
92 stands for 1992 which is the year I was born in. Should that be fine too?

initialfirstname.lastname@gmail.com or firstname.lastname@gmail are unfortunately already taken.
 
TXTBOOK and GlenA were talking about formatting with word when getting ready to send out resumes. I had someone told me to send them as pdf's so the formatting doesn't get screwed up. Curious as to what people think about doing that. The only issue I could see is not everyone may have a pdf reader but I would hope most do by now.

I wouldn't. Resumes are no place to state your age. Leave that for the interview. I see emails like that and it stands out as a obvious young gun.
 
True story - had to make some decisions today and in review of one of the resumes came across the address: "hotjen_90@...."

Not exactly helping her cause. Sure, I'm interviewing her at Motel 6 (I have it on good, JC provided authority that DFW metroplex chicks dig the place) but I'm not hopeful she'll get a job...

Seriously - one thing, and the email address is just part of it - you youngsters have an absolute CRAP attention to detail. Am I to believe you'll have attention to details that I require if you are careless (or clueless) enough to have "hotjen...) as your email addy on a resume? It isn't just that though - the typos, the bad judgement - many people have already screwed up multiple times before I've even met them...just by a lack of attention to detail on their resume. They are already starting off in a hole - is that the best way to navigate 20 million + unemployed and a buyers market for those hiring? Of course, it might also come down to boob-size, but please give yourself a chance from the get-go.

What's the best way to describe how efficient you are on a resume? I've been using examples - like how changing my oil at the car wash saves time and money. Would you interview me? (I'll only do it at the Motel 6 if brent p h is there too.)

Changing your oil at the car wash shows efficiency and thinking outside the box. Certainly I'd hire you. If you're making me bring Brent you have to bring SeatClutcher.
