So it begins... the wonderful TSA

Admittedly no, but you also fail to realize that solely because I'm white I'm often the oppressor in society, even if I have nothing to do with anything? That I am "the man" solely because of the color of my skin? Is that not racism?

Not if you call it "profiling" based on race and past history of people like you.....

I was just going to mention El Al. They don't profile...thats the difference they suspect anyone and everyone who has a ticket as a potential terrorist. That wouldn't be profiling, that would be interrogation of all souls. That is something drastically different then racial profiling.

At least El Al is cognizant of the fact that people trying to do hard to jew and their planes come in all ages, colors, sex and religions.
they are the kings of profiling. they just have a different name for it. they ask you if you are jewish, isreali, arab, etc then split you up from there. it is a long grueling process but it is safe.

I wasn't calling you out specifically Bigey, I know you're not Muslim.

Uhhh yeah because they're not blowing hundreds of people up at a time... I could go out and protest the Crusades, but that's a very (500+ years) dead issue. Current Muslim extremism is not, however.

Look, I have plenty of Muslim friends and I'll be the first to admit that not all Muslims are terrorists, but as I sourced before, almost every terrorist attack on the US consisted of a group of Middle Eastern males. I realize there are plenty of non-middle eastern muslims, but, to be honest, outside of small factions of Indonesia (and Chechnya, who don't seem to care too much about the US) it seems that extremism does not exist. It is a fairly local phenomenon centered in the areas of Saudia Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, even the UAE. It's not a problem with the religion, it's the way that the religion is used as a justification by these people.

Interestingly enough this seems to be a standard growing pain for a religion. Islam started in about 600 AD... So they're about 1400 years "in". Look at Christianity 1400 years after founding and you'll see they were doing very similar things.

It's absolutely sickening that people do it. However, there aren't THOUSANDS of people praising these attacks worldwide. Let alone governments...

Handled this earlier, but no. I called for Muslims around the world. This would be your clue that I'm not talking about you.

So you have no problem with Hitler gassing the Jews either? I mean, hell, live and let live. He didn't harm you physically, so let's just let him be.

(Godwined the thread, sorry)

Exactly.

Lets see how bout we just have such a great security system that we dont need "profiling?" If it's so great, and thorough we dont need any special exceptions and needs for "passengers of concern."

Hey, how about the attacks with McVeigh? He wouldnt be a "suspect" hell he was white himself. Yet, he did a horrific crime on our soil. Hrmm Japanese attacked our asses which was a call for war, yet they werent expected.

Hello Chris Ford - old ass saying, EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED.

Chris where did you hear radical islam is being spread through UAE, Syria, Saudi, Hell EVEN AFGHANISTAN? Just because Osama is in Afghanistan doesnt mean the country spouts off their support for Osama.

I'm sorry if it sounds this way, but when you keep ignorance up on someone or a group of someone for so long you're gonna finally have people take action about those people. So when an attack happens, us goes "WHAT?! What happened, we're so peaceful?!" without the people getting the information of what goes on under the sheets.

Now Chris, you misinterpreted what i said. I said it's quite fine for radical muslims to spout off their hatred in America against America. They have every right to do so. Just as i have every right for telling them to #### off! Hell i dont remember who said it, but it goes something along the lines of "i dont have to believe in what you say, i wont defend it, but i'll defend the you the right to say it."

I remember a brithish airways flight was cancelled and searched for bombs when a middle eastern male on a flight from London started loudly saying "allah akhbar." Say discrimination/racial profiling doesnt exist...It's blatent. It's amazing when you live in it first hand but it's brushed under the rug because it's for "national security."

Yes, but those sort of attacks are practically indefensible. And that's regardless of what race you are. A small group of 3 Hispanics/Asians/Blacks/Zerg could get together and plan something fairly large scale and cause a considerable amount of damage, but without becoming ridiculously oppressive we cannot stop something like that. It's unfortunate.

Where are these people coming from then? Magical Jihad land? No. The 9/11 hijackers were primarily Saudi. No, most of these governments don't outwardly support Al Qaeda (Especially Pakistan, Saudi and the UAE now), but there are large followings in these countries.

Okay and I agree with you on this. However, let's look at two specific organizations/groups that aren't fans of us. One is France and the other is Al Qaeda. France certainly has no dearth of things to say about us. BUT, they aren't acting on it by killing innocent civilians. This is where the line is drawn, IMO. People can say all they want about the US, but once you start physically harming people because of your opinions, that's when your actions become inhumane. I'm fairly sure you'd agree with me on this.

Okay, let's look at it from regular Joe Public's POV. You're sitting on an airplane, and some person, with whom you've never had any prior contact, starts yelling "Allah Akhbar"... wouldn't you be a bit edgy, first of all not really understanding why he's saying it and second the past history of that phrase on airplanes (and I'm not going 9/11 here, I'm thinking about EgyptAir and others). Yeah, you should be able to say whatever you want whenever you want, but there are times when it will perceived 100% wrong and you might be on the receiving end of discrimination. It's unfortunate but it's the way that it works in the real world. Let's say that the individual had actually had a weapon on his person, and nobody did anything for fear of stepping on his toes... 300 dead for political correctness? Is that fair to the mother sitting in 37B with her child?

Hate to burst your bubble, but when Japan attacked us, what happened to Japanese people living in America at the time? Not saying I agree with the government's solution to the "problem," but something was done. Unless you're referring to a different Japanese attack in the past 65 years?

bigey take a drive up california highway 395 towards mammoth mountain. the camp (manzanar) that is on your left was for all the japanese americans and people with japanese surnames. i must say i agree with chris when he compares the french and arab countries. we are lucky to have the first ammendment but that only pertains to words not actions.

Some would argue that the Right to Assemble is an action. Not the FIRST ammendment, but still in the Bill of Rights.
