so you really don't think you have anything to offer because you're furloughed? REALLY?
heck, i can see 3 things you could expand on for future pilots knowledge...
1) how to successfully go from career changer to pilot
2) a road less traveled: how to deal with being furloughed
3) how to handle the ups and downs of the aviation industry...talk about the positives, successes...talk about the pitfalls...furlough and your opinion on how best to handle the situation when confronted with conflict.
maybe you don't see the potential...but everyone has a story to tell, you just need to look outside the box a bit and see what type of story yours tells
the idea is not to "sell" aviation, aviation sells itself very nicely, but to bring perspective and awareness to the future generations of this industry...let them know what they're in for using reality based perspectives and experiences that you yourself have been through. give them the knowledge that they might have trouble finding on their own.

Are you kidding? Do you have any idea how quickly the freight guys and/or the airline pilot forum riffraff will rip him, and everything he writes apart?
surreal will be told, in no uncertain terms and with amazing quickness, that he needs to sit down, shut up, and let the big boys talk.

It's one of those things, it only takes a few bad apples to make all look bad. We have a BAD Cirrus driver at our field (NOT ME!). I wont even go into his flying style, but it includes reading the paper.
I think I know who you are talking about. Then again, I think I have met every cirrus driver on the field.
Your story sound a lot like any other pilot at our field....oops it's just Brett and a student

I don't think the point of jc is to 'sell' aviation so much as it is to present information to anyone considering a career. The perspective of a furloughed pilot would add a whole new dimension to the site.
Personally one of my aviation goals has always been to write a perspective article (seriously.) But it's not yet the right time.

When I was a little boy, I thought planes were cool. At some point I learned to fly them. Then I instructed for a while and did some other, non-relevant type stuff. After being granted a degree by a school which prides itself on deconstructing arguments that were abstruse even back when they were considered meaningful or current, I decided that I'd better get a job and make some money. This cargo company was hiring and it was only a two week course. Four proud years later, here I am, heckling RJ gear swingers and plotting my career change to WARLORD.
