So if you're not here...

If I ever do anything that is relevant to aviation I will certainly provide it.

In all seriousness the perspectives articles are a great resource. Doug is right to call for more submissions and he should probably make this a sticky.

I want to see:

T-cart (19k hours+ in Ag)
Ctab (The path from Ag/bug eradication, to freight, to 121 regional)
An air ambulance person - both fixed and rotor wing
Polar
An ACMI guy like Kalitta or Southern
An accident investigator

I didn't realize you were looking for more. Give me a couple weeks and I'll do one for 135 charter/air ambulance.

I'd like one from Orange Anchor. I think he just might have the JC record for "most types flown" and certainly for "highest number of interesting types".

+1

Way more interesting than 2nd tier heavy cargo.

Way

Doesn't really help sell aviation to have a perspective article about a career changer going two years and getting furloughed.

Yeah that.

I really enjoy his anecdotes.

If you are not vigilant, you will miss them in threads.

You think since some of us have complaints about the aircraft (design/engineering, sales department, some of the money money than brains owners) that we think you are less of a pilot? Don't worry so much.

Anyhow, carry on.

I actually got some PM and email over it, Believe it or not. Not that it really effected me. Seems more people want for me to take them up. :D

Obviously. Maybe next time you can parachute into the airport instead of actually landing. Takes the hard part out of flying. :D

I'll remember that the next time you are flying MY plane and YOU break it (you were PF) !!! Sure, the ALT has failed, but how about one more approach so I can get current????;)

How about a "how it can be done without spending 70 grand" perspective? I'm sure there's a few of us who have a good story. Every time someone comes on and talks about an expensive school, there are a bunch that jump on that. Why not focus that energy into a story about your success.

I'm just a Cirrus pilot, and we know how everyone here just LOVES them.....apparently I'm not good enough of a pilot since I fly them.:banghead:

It's sad to say, but the majority of Cirrus drivers are completely ignorant.

EX: I was departing the pattern at the local airport the other day. I hear a Cirrus call up three miles south. That puts him over a 2000MSL hill at an airport with a TPA of 850MSL, with the pattern right up against the hill. I tell him politely that the pattern entry is an upwind over the city at 1500. He says he'll do that. So me and my student depart. Turning x-wind, I see this Cirrus comming over the top of the hill, dive bombing the pattern, right on top of us. Classic high wing on the bottom, low wing on top mid air scenario. Not only did he not do the recomended pattern entry, but he didn't do wha he said he was going to do. Then, he proceded to accelerate, and descend right in front of us, nearly hitting us. This is a common occurence with Cirrus drivers.

I have met a few that were worth thier weight in gold, but for the most part, they are complete idots.

/rant over/.

I'm not stirring the pot here, but how could you say all cirrus drivers are idiots? Just because one of two cirrus drivers fly like morons does not mean the group as a whole does. That's just like saying all people that drive GMC Sierras are idiots because one cut me off today. :whatever:

It's one of those things, it only takes a few bad apples to make all look bad. We have a BAD Cirrus driver at our field (NOT ME!). I wont even go into his flying style, but it includes reading the paper.

Your story sound a lot like any other pilot at our field....oops it's just Brett and a student :D
