So, how bad is your carrier melting down...

Company just announced 100% cancellation of flights to and from the JFK/LGA/EWR and BOS starting at 1700 and starting back up tomorrow afternoon. 526 flights axed. One more day in BGI(I've got island fever and the booze is no longer of any use). Help me, I'm scared.

What the hell for? JFK TAF looks alright.

I have been stuck in the same city since the 3rd. Won't get out till tomorrow assuming my flights don't cancel yet again.

Figuring out my pay is going to be a mess.

Ours is "All agents are currently busy helping other customers...please hold for the next available agent."

Customers? :p
PFJ scum.

I'm in Oregon unfortunately.......so SFO is the big connection out of Eugene getting us anywhere via United....that or Denver, which seems to be sold out. I did look at just buying tickets with other carriers out of PDX, and most didn't even have seats before Tues, and the ones that did were in like 4 hrs from now for $1300 so I guess it isn't worth that to me. I did think about seeing if 1st class upgrade could open some seats, but I can only imagine what kind of expense that would entail with this sort of turnaround. Whatever though, it is what it is. Work has been cool about it
SFO had some major fog- and flow-related butthurt day before yesterday; yesterday, though, things seemed to be humming along relatively smoothly.

Yeh, Boston looks nasty, O'Hare and JFK look a'ight.

Thanks, Obama...

Hot dang. I hope the northeast realizes that once JetBlue shuts down, the entire region is screwed as there are A LOT of commuters. I'll bet you Delta is in a panic, at least.

Ugh.

Hope the city is 'not bad' at least.
It definitely isn't a bad city and they have me in the nice long layover hotel.

Problem is that I am on day 6 of a trip now as a result. No laundry facilities are available.

We've been in a panic for the last week. I'm guessing that almost the entire operation will be shutdown for a week and a half at the rate things are going. I'm not sure how they plan on even STARTING recovery until Wednesday.

Dude, they called my dad to JRM him. And he's by no means a junior guy. "Desperation" comes to mind.

You are now out of compliance with your FOM Professional Appearance standards and therefore unfit to fly. Carry on! ;)

This phone hold talk reminds me of when I used to have to call the US Airways non-rev desk to list with paper tickets. They would try to sell me credit cards and deals on flights the entire hold. On the employee travel line.

Lol

XJT has hold music. No idea what is playing half the time since the volume keeps dropping off.

Every once in a while it drops off completely and you wonder if the call dropped. I think this is a trick to get people to hang up and give up.

from JetBlue Twitter feed:

More than 3,000 flights across the industry have been cancelled today, and roughly 300 of those will be JetBlue’s. Beginning at 1 p.m. ET today, we’ll reduce operations at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, and Boston through 10 a.m. ET Tuesday. At that time, we’ll gradually ramp up again – we intend to be 100% operational by 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday. This plan allows for 17 hours of rest for crews, and time for Tech Ops to service the aircraft.

I remember the mess a few years ago after ORD got hammered with that snowstorm plus the captain shortage. My god, that was a bad 3 plus weeks of hell and Im not sure they ever really recovered from that. I cant imagine whats going on now. This is a triple whammy.

And the delays and cancellations continue. According to the local Vegas news, its causing a problem for the CES Convention this week  Condolences to all of you working this week. Im sure the XJT folks will get that "We can defeat mother nature. Take one for the team. We're gonna roll your off days until sometime this spring" message from Brad.
