SkyWest starting pay is $15.68/hr - 2nd yr is $17.53/hr - 3rd yr $18.75/hr and so on with a 15yr top out around $26/hr. This is just for dispatch assuming you never do anything more. There are several positions that offer decent overrides (Trainer, ATS, System Controllers, Lead Dispatch, OCC Ops Supervisor, etc...). It is only about 90 minutes to drive to Vegas, not sure where the 3 hour thing came from. 4 hours drive up to SLC. St George itself is a town of about 150,000 people so its a decent size for a "smaller" community. People that come here will either love it or hate it based on their own personal lifestyle. Great for anyone that loves the outdoors, several National Parks nearby plus tons of places for hiking, biking, ATV's, boating, hunting, fishing, etc... There is nearly zero night life which a lot of people say would be the biggest complaint. And yes it is a Mormon (LDS) community, so on Sunday's many business' and local non chain restaurants are closed. The town is right on the UT/AZ/NV border, the climate is 9 months of nice wx with about 3 months of extreme heat. - Summer temps get to 115-120 degrees somedays and Winter lows on a very rare extreme cold day may get down to the 20's but as an average the winter temps are in the 50's during the day. Spring and Fall are amazing with average temps 60-80. Almost never need a coat here. It all depends on what kind of life you want, if you love the big city then you'll probably not like it here. Overall my opinion is that there are a lot more pros about working and living here then there are cons. My single biggest complaint would be that from SGU you can only fly to SLC or DEN right now..... hoping to add PHX sometime soon or maybe a California flight. We had LAX but it was the absolute worst possible departure time for anyone that was trying to connect so they discontinued it last year. You basically have to take an early flight up to SLC or drive to LAS when traveling. The only jobs that I would accept over being here would be with either Delta or Southwest, maybe Alaska. However I'd still rather live here than where any of those jobs would take me.
