I'd love to tell you about my schedule last month but I'm not going to because I'm probably, more than likely, stealing someone's flying here.

On another note, I've been here for just about a year and half and never bid under 88%. Even when I was in ORD. I'm not complaining though, at least I haven't been forced to change domicile.

I got lucky when they opened BOI and SAN. A bunch of people senior to me left SFO.

Both bases I've been at they've transferred a few in behind me, so I thought sweet just a few more months and I'll be in the 70's easily. Then they shut the door behind and lock it, lol. At least I made it in!

Do you only have one day off between work blocks?
Did you waive min rest in domicile?

I do waive the two days off between work blocks because it allows me to get better trips in an attempt to have more days off. Regardless, my minimum line value is typically 94 hours a month with max days off. What I wouldn’t do to be able to work a standard 75 hour line.

I was told that SkyWest (in addition to the standard 121 requirements) requires 2,500 fixed-wing hours (not total time) in order to upgrade to captain. Is this still the company's current policy? As a military rotary-wing guy, this would add over an additional year of time to upgrade. Supposedly I could request a waiver, however, I would rather go somewhere where it is fact, not merely a possibility.

If they still do require 2,500 fixed-wing hours, who in the company would responsible for reviewing the policy in order to potentially change it?

@zVo
There’s now an actual rotor transition program:
http://www.skywest.com/skywest-airline-jobs/career-guides/rotor-transition-program/

“SkyWest recognizes skills common to helicopter and glider flying and will accept helo/gilder time as part of an applicant’s total time as long as they have a minimum of 250 hours of fixed wing.”

Glider is fixed wing..

How is this possible? Which domicile are you in?
I hate to ask, but is it possible to trade, post or drop?
It's my understanding a lot of people who are getting screwed days off on bids open themselves up and waive their protections.

I bid generic 4 days, max days off, try to finish at this layer, target range 83-89 hours. I usually get 14-18 days off depending on the month and bid a lot worse seniority. No PN/CN either. Never waived anything thing on my bid. I understand some people are successful at making a great bid, but almost every person getting screwed or getting 9-10 days off usually have something in their bid. Not always but usually.

When average credit per day is in the 5:00 to 5:13 range and PBS gives you a required line value in excess of 86 hours, 14 days off is asking a lot. And even then all my trips would have to be at or above average credit which is unlikely. For May, the only way I could reasonably expect to see more than 13 days off all month would be to bid stand ups. You don't have to waive protections or put in a messed up bid to be down to 12 days off per month. I usually resolve my bid no lower than layer 3 without waiving anything yet I still end up with 11 or 12 days off in order to meet the required line values due to plenty of trips that come in at or barely above MDG.

But it all depends on what base and equipment you are in. I about choked on my own snot when a friend showed me a 28 hour 4 day trip he got. But he's SEA ER7. In PHX CRJ, I'm excited when I get a 4 day that's over 20 hours. If you look around the system it's not hard to find average credit values in the sub-5 hour range in a lot of bases. Combine that with required line values near 90 hours and it's not hard to see how guys end up with 10-11 days off per month when the average daily credit requires 18 working days a month or more.

What are the minimum days off for PBS? I thought it was 12?

Per the PPM PBS should max out at 19 duty periods in a bid, so only in a 31 day bid period (May, July, August, October, and December). The rest of the year 11 is all you are guaranteed to get.
