Skywest Questions

Is it 211 bucks per ride or for the year or a one time thing?

Per year, based on your anniversary date (not calendar year). It's $50 per person on your flight benefits capped at $200 plus tax if you pay via Travelnet. At the airport I think it defaults to the full rate no matter what, but I can't remember for sure (it's been 3 years since I was DL gate agent).

$50 also buys the non-dedicated PPRs the ability to see the loads, list NRSA on SKW DCI flights, etc.

Since I'm based at ORD I don't get Delta bennies correct?

I'm not exactly daddy war bucks or anything but paying the 50 to 200 dollars to not worry about getting home or to work seems like a pretty easy decision.

I think?

What plane are you on? CRJ gets them ERJ doesn't

e-jet, makes sense.

Thanks.

Also just wondering, I see my seniority number overall moving rapidly but my in base ORD number hasn't changed at all. Are the base seniority numbers updated as often as overall seniority?

It's 50 bucks to be able to use your CASS (hold on, can't type that without raging) and in my experience the gate agents are still clueless about how to assign you a seat, so generally they just give me the jumpseat form and tell me what's open. Doesn't really inspire confidence. Side note, everyone has the log-in for Delta's travel site, so even though you can't list you can still see loads.

Not sure, but probably depends where you're looking. By the time PBS rolls out it can be inaccurate with people having shuffled around. The list on the crew info tab can also be a little inaccurate too because it won't show who is and isn't bidding (medical leave, people on IOE, etc) and if I remember correctly, they'll still show up under ORD if for example they were awarded a transfer for next month to another base. Tough to say, I guess if you're in that close range between reserve and holding a line you won't really know until PBS opens.

OK and one more question:

Type rating bonus. I asked about it in the interview and they said it was awarded after IOE. Who do I need to follow up with about this? It's only been one pay period since I finished IOE but I don't want to miss out on this.

Not super sure on that one, you might have to pester someone.

Had the same thing happen to me. I just emailed payroll and kindly reminded them about it. Never got a reply, but I received the bonus this last paycheck.

Does paying the $50 Delta JS extortion fee allow you to flow back into the cabin on Delta mainline flights if there are open seats? Or is it only for OO operated flights?

Should work for any mainline or Delta Connection carrier, but I still run into a lot of gate agents that can't seem to figure out how to assign a seat in the back.

Looks like some SFO flying is being recaptured by mainline.

Good to see and it will be interesting to see how it affects staffing/lines in sfo.

To be honest not quite.

Didn't expect that, but it is good to see some flying going back to mainline. Not sure how long you have been at OO, but I think it would have been pretty difficult to guess that flying would progress to united so quick.

Again, not bummed at all to see that shift to UAL.
I haven't been here long but I was told the CRJ lines took a pretty significant cut. Not predicting anything, that's why I asked.

Oh gotcha,

Yeh, the CRJ lines did take a hit but I did not link it to more flying going back to mainline.

If you haven't been at OO to long then welcome. I wasn't sure if you had been around a while and correlated the last DVR to this, as some people definitely always have an ear to the ground here.

The CRJ took a big hit mostly because United is getting rid of the 700's and that flying is going to the 175. There are only a couple left in SFO for the airports that require its performance. I just got here as well and bid SFO just as things were really winding down. We have lost about 25-28 lines since February.

In other news, this just popped up on the interwebz. Confirmed with a CP buddy that it is real.
