Skywest Questions

Do not bid LC in SFO. It is no bueno. A lot of people chop off their turns and you will be first call to get it. A ton of people also drop standups and you will be assigned it first if it's within the 12 hours. Thank me later on this. LC sounds great on paper but then people wonder why they got it when they are junior reservists... it's because someone learned their lesson. Remember SkyWest has the worst RSV rules in the industry. I'm not trying to be negative but it is true.

I am in the middle of IOE and was awarded SFO (CRJ) 1/31. I will probably finish IOE first week of February. Am I screwed for February since I missed the bidding window? I plan on commuting to SFO (from SEA), will my QOL be better on SCR? Out of training I was looking forward to LCR for the commutability, but it doesn't look like that exists!!!!

Yup. The bids for February are already being processed. They will fill in your February schedule with reserve days. You'll be able to bid for march. You can call and try to manipulate your schedule for February once you get signed off.

Contract training and see if they can go ahead and schedule differences and -700/900 checkout.

You will probably have to sit reserve for February. Not sure they'll let you have LCR or not, since those lines are built already. But the minute you finish IOE, call crew support and talk to one of the managers about getting the days off you want. Also you get four moving days, so use those to your advantage. You can put them where ever you want. If you don't call right away, they will choose your moving days for you.

Moving days? Like days to move to the new base? Or something else?

Anybody here in the training department, specifically doing FTD/CTP that could answer a few questions for me. PM please.

Thank you!

Well if I get hired anywhere I can assure you the one thing I won't do is give up on days off [emoji23]

Important to note you don't have to use them to "Move". And you can move them in the month. I moved them to the start of the following month to give me a bigger chunk of time off to take a trip..

Yes. They are meant to move to your new base. But you don't actually have to move. Just use them for extra days off. Have weekend plans later in February? Put them there. You get moving days every time you transfer bases.

I started IOE on the 700/900. So I have one, possibly two more trips on it. Then I need to get on the 200. Which has not been scheduled yet. I called the training department to inquire about when that will be scheduled. they did not answer.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Don't worry, they'll take care of it.
