Skywest Questions

ERJ definitely went way junior in DEN compared to the CRJ. When I saw around 12 people transferred out I figured they'd have to let a few people in to replace them but only one person was awarded DEN. Hopefully when October rolls around I'll be able to be based at home.

I think The ER7 is the way to go if you want DEN. The 175 side is growing while the CRJ side is shrinking or staying the same but moving to all 200 flying. We're losing almost all (if not all) our United 700 flying. You will be relegated to 200 flying if you try to do DEN CRJ.

100% of united 700 flying that isn't aspen/eagle is gone by summer.

Just goes to show how fast things change. I chose the CRJ back in March for DEN, and am kicking myself now since the ERJ was apparently the way to go. It's frustrating but at this point I just want reserve where I live. I can't complain because it hasn't been that long, just seems like I missed the boat.

I will say if I end up having to transfer to the ERJ I'm going to miss the DL flight benefits. They've come in handy numerous times

Hey guys,

I'm about 340 hours to go. I would like to get my interview done next month where I'll probably be around 280 when Skywest shows up. I've made a long study guide including electrical systems, turbine engines, and high altitude aerodynamics also including CRJ700 information I got from the manuals (I'm a cadet so that's where I got that information), nothing too advanced.

It might be too much studying but a lot of interviewers have said if I read some manuals it would really impress them and I really wanna get on with Skywest, obviously.

Is there anyone out there that would be willing to scan through it? It's about 21 pages (pictures included) and see if I should add anything or if I have anything wrong. I feel confident with it all but the high altitude aerodynamics and electrical systems review would be really helpful for me.

Go ahead and post it up.

I also have a study guide for the interview that I can post, not that you'll need it!

Open to any criticism here or PM. Only thing I'm missing so far is 91.175 and any other regs I should study.
Most impressive! That Rocky education is really showing! ;)

Biggest thing I would say is to keep it simple. You certainly have a TON of information there and it all looks good, just make sure not to over saturate your brain. Find the highlights and focus on those. I think you're gonna do great!

Wow, very impressive. That's way more than I studied and I still got the job (I do my CTP next week then CRJ ground school starts 9/5). Perhaps because I didn't do the cadet program, but none of the systems/technical questions they asked me were specific to any one aircraft. The only things that were aircraft specific were the questions about the electrical system I drew (DA-42).

In addition to 91.175, I would add to make sure you study up on reading TAFs/METARs and determining when alternates are needed. And don't forget to be familiar with Jeppesen charts, en route and approach.

Very impressive indeed, no real criticisms.

Tip for the CRM portion of the interview; don't forget to keep your FA and company (dispatcher) in the loop during diversions, ask for weather and notams before blindly deciding.

You'll be set for the interview for sure, it seems we've been taking every qualified candidate we can get.

Based on the Facebook recruiting pictures I usually see 40-60 but it's been smaller...some look like 30. I'm not sure if it's just CRJ or both CRJ/ERJ
Depends if they are running 2 classes a month or one large one (both about 55-60 a month on the CRJ side)
