Skywest Questions

I don't think we are having issues filling classes either from what I saw a couple months ago.

This last month was only a net gain of 5 pilots with full classes and attrition. If the next is the same, and the slower upgrade to CA due to QOL, it could get very interesting.

Someone mention making more as a senior FO with more days off then the RVS CA at min guarantee.

More days off for sure, but I can't see where less money is true unless they were working 95 hour lines, common on the CRJ, and then going to reserve guarantee but if 95 hours a month is what it takes then I'll take less money, and that would still be true no matter what you make.

Yes, the current pay package is a 5 year deal through mid 2022, but the company is already in pay negotiations.

Negotiations?

As much as you can call it that...

"Here's the agreement the company and SAPA really want you to vote on, take it or leave it"

"Let's lock in our costs to get more contracts"

Wouldn't doing that then raising the pay after 7 months really piss off the partners?

Yeah, I saw those numbers as well. I didn't take it as we had a net 5 pilots because of hiring issues though. I thought it because of the fact that we cannot keep up with the attrition. I'm not sure what their plan is to fix that and staff the new 175 flying this year. Although, it seems like that plane is heavily staffed. So will they come down to the CRJ levels of staffing issues then?

If the company knows recruitment can still bring in big numbers on current pay, why would they increase the pay? CRJ classes are still running at like 40+, with 2 classes a month. I just feel like we had an opportunity to get something "real" (or decent) in terms of pay and that opportunity is gone now. SAPA has made it clear that it's just a student council for the company. In the conference call this week, they are saying Endeavor and Republic raised pay because we raised ours....Seriously? Yeah, I'm sure Endeavor and Republic felt threatened by our 1% bump in pay. (Sorry, 2% year 1 and 0% year 2 lol)

I really hope it starts to get more interesting. That's the last hope.

I'll tell you how to fix it:
1. Pay better than everyone else
2. Work rules better than everyone else
3. Commence world domination

I'll be here all day to collect my CEO bonus

Someone posted on one of the Facey-Space pages that 5 of the guys who left last month were new hires in training.

I don't feel like that's at all uncommon.

Edit: found the picture.
31 captains and 43 FO'S... Only had 6 names we could see on the list and they were all in training. Not sure if that list include failures though too.

If I remember right they came to the “table” early for the most current package. Looks like they are doing it again...hope y’all get something good.

I'd be impressed if they did something close to Republic rates with equivalent or similar raises over the next few years.

I don't know if you guys saw the post where someone compared our 2004 rates to what we are getting paid now and supposedly we would have to get a 15% raise to match what the pilots were making in 2004.

15%. It’s simple. That’s just to get us to 2004 pay.

Why would you vote for anything less. The industry is demanding higher pay for pilots. We have the leverage and that’s why they’ve come back to the table merely 7 months after the last contract passed..

Yup there it is “SAPA” starts pay talks right in the email. *palm to face*. Either way, I still stand by my that’s why the company will be at the table comment.

Pay rates are nice, but y’all need some QoL improvements. Get rid of the silly “credit” or better, bump the MDG up a bit and toss in commuter hotels. Too bad SAPA won’t “negotiate” QoL stuff.....

I'm not sure this block or better thing is what people claim it is, at least 80% of my flights end up being less than or equal to the credit value anyway no matter what we do, what keeps that from just becoming the block number?

I think duty rigs based on actual instead of scheduled is the way to go.

Well y’all get paid credit or better, not block or better. They won’t adjust the block number cause that’s what the pax see and the mainline partners pay INC. Y’all just get shorted on the “credit” part. I remember flying 4 days with like 20 credit and 22-23 block. Yea, we ended up blocking closer to the 20 part but every other airline would have paid that trip at 22-23.
