SkyWest Pay Proposal Out

It's dissapointing. 2nd year FOs get a .32% increase while 3rd year and beyond gets over 3%, whaaat? 1st year FOs get no COLA and no BHO, whaaat? The entire pay scheme is so convoluted that 2nd year CAs take a paycut in 2010 on the 700/900!

I would've expected a much better proposal from Skywest Mgmt. Sad. I would've expected at LEAST ASA pay rates, if not more. Those pay rates are pay rates for companies whose contracts were drawn up YEARS ago.

After voting down union representation? Suuuure. :)

Common guys, as soon as we vote yes we'll be getting 200 canyon blue E-175s

mmmmmm carrots. nom nom nom.

Any chance this sweet deal (:sarcasm:) will improve support for representation????

That is the thank you from management for keeping ALPA off property. :whatever:

Whats the difference? When one generation of our pilots learns the shams that mgmt does to the pilots, a new generation of brand new spanking CFI's comes in and votes down the union. Welcome to the kool aid company.

And the FO's that voted the recent union down, will be the ones pushing for it in 3 years from now, and their FO's are gonna tell them they don't know squat!

And the cycle continues!

I hear ya there! I am dead-set against the Q over here because of the pay rates. However, I recently put my bid in for it because most new hires are going to the Q now and we need pro-ALPA people over there to combat the management nonsense being put out in the schoolhouse. Guess we'll see what happens.

But I could upgrade last than a year. :sarcasm:

Honestly I'm not surprised or disappointed, why would SkyW management offer anything above and beyond what they feel would be necessary to keep the pilot group sedate. Sure there will be some grumbling but they know that this group (as a whole) is more concerned about not rocking the boat, flying bigger and bigger planes at mediocre rates apparently does not bother the majority.

I would even say that the 175 rates are there as a carrot. The pay rate stinks but management knows that the majority doesn't care about that. It's a big shiny new plane, it would represent more growth and as long as the upgrade time stays close to where it's at, the pay rate is not so much an issue.

Gumby has more backbone than most of these guys. Sorry to the pro-alpa guys that you get lumped in with the rest.

What a sham!

The pay was not raised! It was simply rearranged since their 700/900 over ride was removed (it was $2) but year 1 FO pay was increased by $2. Another victory for management at SKYW! I love to hear how the SKYW guys are talking about "voting no" for the new proposed rates [pulling my hair out!]. Their vote is nothing more than a lame duck vote.

SAPA or the SKYW pilots hold no power without some sort of representation!

When will they get it? Management ALLOWS SAPA to vote like it's a union but when push comes to shove, it's nothing more than a pesudo-union without an ounce of power. Managment will impose it's will and pay on these guys over and over until they figure it out.

But, the SKYW guys didn't need ALPA, an in-house, teamsters, or any other sort of union because their management cares. Wake the hell up! So this is the point in the thread where the SKYW guys come in and justify a non-union position by comparing themselves to Mesa, Pinnacle, and TSA.

Another slap in the face for pilots and a victory for management. Way to keep our progress as a whole moving in the right direction.

The payscale as a whole is better. It tops out better even after three years. Every one on the list now obviously will have been there more than 2 years at that point any way.

Only affects Skywest Mainline:rolleyes: right?
Unions are nice, I just hope they scope out all 51+ seat RJ's at the majors.

Why? The anti-union • already voted against ALPA, and another drive can't happen for at least a year (if ALPA is ever interested in wasting money on these guys again). Why should management give them anything? Their loyal slaves have already said "thank you sir, may I have another?" No sympathy.

Disappointing doesn't even begin to describe this mess of a pay package. I am starting my own homegrown campaign to put up flyers to educate folks on why to vote 'NO'. SKYW peeps, PM me for a flyer to pass out and hang up.

Merit - contrary to your omnipotent view, our management cannot impose its will on something like this. It has been proven before, but I guess you wouldn't know that since you don't actually work here.
