SkyWest Pay Proposal Out

Respect?? Your kidding? This is from a 20 year old trust fund baby who's too embarrassed to even mention whatever bottom feeder he works for.
Too funny:rotfl:

he hasn't mentioned it directly but it is there....you just have to piece together the puzzle.

Of Mav, maybe. With CF in the middle.

Kris was taking pics and me and Doug were drinking beers and eating chicken wings.

exactly my point.

Plenty of people know for whom I work. As for the trust fund baby comment, I seem to remember myself being self-made, but yeah, maybe my parents came into a ton of money since I've last checked :whatever:.

Also, yes, "my kidding". Genius runs rampant in these parts.

So they only cared about themselves, and now you're only caring about yourself... Interesting logic

Ah, crap. I can't believe I'm gonna do this....I agree with Chris here.

If all the 2nd year CA here got a good pay increase and voted yes, but we kept our FO rates as crappy as they are, we'd STILL be on the bottom of the barrel as far as regionals go. You can't tell the FOs "Look, we need to stand together and vote a union in" then throw them under the bus when the next vote comes up.

What would be the difference in that and all the FOs here screaming for the $8 pay raise PCL offered the FOs but didn't want to deal with the rest of the contract? Sure, we woulda gotten a LOT more $$$, but when we upgraded to CA, it would be the same crap, different seat. I have to say the "I got my 14% pay raise" is very alike to pulling the ladder up after you've gotten to the club house.

Kell- When you know a certain demographic amongst your pilot group(SKYW 1st and 2nd yr FO's) voted down the union, would you care about what fate they were given when time came to vote on it? Be honest. If you still say you'd care, I'll respect that. But please understand, its' one thing to comment on this from an outsiders prospective, versus someone who spent 2 years, countless hours, and many days off trying to get this thing to pass. For the record, if it would have passed, I would have still spent many more countless hours on my days off to better the profession.

Kinda makes it feel like it was all a waste.

And to add to that, everytime I show up requesting a jumpseat, my pilot group is known as the guys that voted it down. I mean seriously, thats borderline GoJets.

Its funny to see our pilots reactions when they read the 34% club sticker on my bag. Specially the checkairmen. Half the time they have no clue what that means, which makes sense cuz 66% of them didn't even vote.

It's not about them. It's about the entire profession. Like you, I couldn't possibly care less about the willfully ignorant kids that voted NO to representation, but this vote is going to make things harder for the rest of the regional pilots out in the industry that are contributing to the profession. That BHO is a thorn in the side of every regional MEC and CNC out there. The 1% COLA isn't much better. It wasn't about the sniveling little brats that voted NO to ALPA, it was about the profession.

Yeah, I would still care. Doing otherwise would be throwing my hands up and giving up the ghost. Like PCL said, it's not just your pilot group, but everyone from Great Lakes and Mesa to Delta and United that's affected by a pay proposal. If the Mesa boys and girls voted in a pay scale that under cut yours by $1-2 an hour, guess what's gonna happen next time a pay scale comes up for a vote? It's the whole "jacking up the house" philosophy of one ALPA group building on another.

I understand your frustration at the total lack of reception and sheer short sightedness a lot of the Skywest pilots are putting forth. It's a constant battle here, too, and we actually HAVE ALPA on property. There were plenty of FOs over here that were pissed they wouldn't be seeing an immediate pay rate, and it took major damage control from those of us that could see further than next week to keep them from burning down the ALPA offices.
