SKYW Poolies - Some are going to class

Ask Delta about that... You cannot grow forever, so you better make QOL better while you're growing. The reason the company is growing is not to make QOL better for pilots, it is to make bigger profits for the company. So if they want to make the extra dough, then they better make better QOL for pilots.

as an aside...the new hires will go to the Bro, unless there are not enought Bro pilots willing to transition, or upgrade.
 
Regional growth is over! I dont see where you have evidence of growth for regionals as we move into the future?? After all it does seem like this is also good news for those of us who want to advance in the future!!!

It worked out well for most of them. They're long gone from Mesa to bigger and higher paying jobs. Your point?

Overall growth in the regional business as a whole is over. Individual regional company growth is not over. And neither is individual regional company shrinkage/liquidation. Survival of the fitness. You will see...

Or are you talking about the Freedom A-listers that sold out their pay and QoL for growth? If that's the case, I'll let someone else take over this little argument, cause it's a lost cause.

Wow, they've never done that. I'm surprised. I think were upto 37,000 numbers. It's amazing to think just 6 years ago we were in the high teens.

Man. You're gonna have to save these posts. Keep them handy so you can look back and have a nice laugh a few years down the road.

In the meantime I BEG you, pleeease take a quick look at labor/management relations along with what happens pretty much EVERY time a pilot group is under the delusion that taking a concession while following the 'growth' carrot on a stick somehow leads to longterm QOL improvements.

A good example being "Deal Capt Holt the Ace and you guys won't regret it". This deal was the promise made to just bring the 700's to Skyw and we would be rewarded later. 6 years later, we are still flying them at 50 seat rates, and your beloved Capt Holt who was Dir of Flt Ops at the time is now the President of ASA. Folks, this stuffruns deeper than two weeks.

Those people have never had to deal with the real Lorenzo managers. I do every day. There is no comparison. ASA management is certainly not benevolent, but they are some of the least objectionable managers out there in our industry. Combined with the oversight of a good ALPA team (and you do have one, despite what some people think), you'll do just fine with the new PBS system.

But I wouldn't go that far. :) Your management has no respect for you. They just realize that working with you is better for them than constantly being confrontational. If they thought that they could benefit more by treating you like dirt, they would. It's all about their own self-interest.

Flightline's PBS software is brand new, and it's probably the most advanced system on the market. It utilizes a "drag and drop" interface that will help eliminate the problems of a learning curve that are usually associated with PBS. It has a multi-bid system that allows pilots to select individual pairings and build a bunch of potential lines rather than just submitting generic preferences (which you can also do). It's a great system, and the ASA MEC Pref Bid Workgroup put together a very comprehensive LOA to go along with it.

This actually sounds promising. Still want to see the wording on the LOA to go with it. Maybe there's hope we over at Pinnacle can build on it. There's also hope that all wars will end tomorrow. I'm honestly not sure which is more likely. :)
