If that happens I will straight up riot Ferguson style.
Me too.
I will become a journalist for an online news organization and raise ALL KINNA HELL.

It will happen but not anytime soon. When ICAO starts to talk about it then I would sense the U.S. won't be far behind this time around.
That's a slow month for us. An average month is maybe 80-90 hours of block and 110 of credit.I seriously do that easily at my regional....every...single...month.
Haha, that's like me saying NYC is overrated. And like I said earlier most guys I fly with that want one of the big 3 usually do so because: 1. Faster upgrade 2. Wide bodies 3. A specific base. How is that any different?
I've commuted err'where.
The only place that's a pain in the butt to commute to is Florida to anywhere because of the heavy amount of people commuting in and out.
However, like the Wookiee said, bases come, go, expand and contract. If I had a dollar for every CVG, DFW, MEM, BOS, PDX (the list goes on and on) that were quick to give the "suck it up and move to base, son) speeches that are now commuting, I'd be a millionaire.
Eh by then you'll probably realize you're going to live to 80 easily and it'll make more sense. Then I will riot Ferguson style...
Not any time soon. But probably about when ICAO start's to talk about it.
Remember the ExpressJet guys on here talking about how they didn't want to go to Continental because "The ExpressJet branded operation is GOING to work and I will be based an hours drive away as I live right by LAX, I don't want to commute to EWR the rest of my career, I get weekends off, and a Christmas vacation week?"
Yeah, move up the food chain folks. If you are a newly minted Regional FO, the day you meet the mins at United, Delta, Alaska, Hawaiian, Spirit, Southwest, JetBlue or American APPLY at everyone and let the chips fall as they may.
@BobDDuck You'll have to tack on another 125 to the Delta one in January.
Unreal that I could have held captain on this last bid at only 7 years and 9 months!
Things are moving.
How long is your commitment to the SchoolHouse?
2-5 years.
Ideally, I'd love to make PCP (supposedly they are looking at moving me to that at the year mark), do that until the 3-4 year point then go to the big bus for at least a bit then shift over to the left seat.
We'll see!
I fly from the left seat several times a month in the sim, haha. (particularly with the more frequent FO/FO newhire pairings these days)
All right, I'll do it, but not all of us can hold 320A. Some only have the choice 88A or 717A.The fabric on the left seat runs smooth.
Last updated seniority list at Alaska was 1506

That's actually my theory on Douchenozzel over at Quartz. Junior FO somewhere, looking for a quick way to get rid of basically every pilot on every seniority list.
That's the latest list they have published as of August. There's definitely more than that....plus theyre hiring 20 a month indefinitely.
