I interviewed today and received an offer for a class date in Aug. First of all I'd have to say that Scenic seemed like a top notch operation and the way they conducted the interviews showed that they really care about who they're hiring, something that I didn't get from another regional I interviewed with recently. The interview was very rigorous and I kind of underestimated it. Every body was friendly and they all looked like they were glad to be there, there were 3 other applicants and all were very nice also. I know at least one other person got an offer on the spot, there was another person that I got to know a little but didn't have the chance to see if they made it or not.
I'd have to say that the interview was more about getting to know you as a person. I think that makes it hard on people. At scenic you won't jump in the flight deck and shut the door for the flight, you will have to interact with the pax therefore personality seemed like a big deal to them. They don't even discuss your resume, they have a test, sim, and hr/tech oral just for that reason.
As far as the actual tech oral, study your jepp plates, know everything there is to know about them. Sim portion was not difficult for me and I kept the instructor quiet most of the time which is a good thing. The main thing to help you out is to relax and just fly it, it's just a sim! Don't over think everything. And finally you have to be yourself and it's ok to make mistakes, it's up to them if they like you or not. I made a few mistakes on the jepp and they make you second guess answers and that is fine they just want to see how you react to pressure and if you're trainable or not. They had a lot of what if and bad captain questions, just give them honest answers.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I think I made the right decision in pursuing Scenic and it seems like a good/fun company to work for. I guess I'll find out.:nana2
lan the whole day for the interview and by the way I think they used to tell the good/bad news by mail, I guess now they tell you on the spot if you made it. If they say that you'll get a letter in the mail with the result, then that is most likely bad.
