Scenic

Congrats dude! What are your times?

And if someone could PM me the sim prep info too, I'd appreciate it!

I'll get you that info. My times are 335/35. I encourage anyone interested to give it a shot and apply, from what I have seen and heard they need pilots bad, and now is a good time to get in with the company!

Yep. Applying next week, after my IPC. I'm concerned because I'm low time and haven't flown much in the past two years. But I'm going to get current and apply and see what happens. Maybe my airline experience (A&P, ex-121 MX Inspector) will help me out some.

Assuming they want me and with a little luck on the timing, we might be in the same class.

I wouldn't worry about your hours. I went up last week with a CFII in a 172 to get current, I hadn't flown much IFR in the past year and it was definitely an eye opener. I was RUSTY. That sim prep is a good idea though! Good luck and hopefully i'll see ya around

I'm looking at cheap apartments with the girlfriend, seems like Henderson is a good place to start looking.

I'm in Southern California, so it's really not that far of a move. Having the girlfriend along to help with the bills and everything is going to make it alot easier. Guess it's time to get used to a new area! If anyone wants to meet up just shoot me a PM. Don't know a soul in the LV area and would be up for grabbing some adult beverages anytime!

How is the interview sim equipped for nav instruments? HSI, RMI, standard VOR head, etc.? I'm hitting the sim a bit and might as well practice with a similar setup.

Well, I'll apply as soon as I get my IPC done. I'm on my third FBO trying to get it done.

First FBO went out of business between my BFR and IPC.

Second one has canceled on me two out of three times over the past week and a half. The last time was today, when I drove for 1.5 hours only to find the plane was down for MX and they didn't bother to call me. I spent three hours in my truck and $25 in gas for nothing.

Trying a third FBO on Monday.

Based on this experience, I don't blame people for not going the FBO route with their flight training. It's taken me two weeks and three FBOs just to get an IPC done. I can't imagine trying to get everything up to MEI at an FBO.

No, but it usually takes about a week from what others have told me.

I think they email you with some interview dates.

When I applied a while back it took them about 3 business days to get an e-mail offering a choice of interview dates.
