Say what you will, Jerry never did this…

You're almost certainly going to be dead when they do, so who gives a •? Save us your unnecessary radio traffic.

That’s certainly a poor attitude towards yourself and your dead passengers.

I don’t get the rage. Have you seen US one twenty weenie pilots on the radios in controlled airspace and how much USELESS and unnecessary chatter is in the airwaves? The bigger the jetliner the less likely chance you go into uncontrolled fields. For me, it’s been years. I don’t even remember the last time I went into an uncontrolled airport. Probably 2020 S.E. Alaska for OE.

Y’all be raging over a fairly minor topic that happens for maybe .5% of scheduled 121 flights. While ignoring how many pilots mess up standard phraseology on the radios, transmit useless crap, make 2-3 calls for something that should have been just one call, etc.

Right, the idea is the guy in the pattern at uncontrolled airport would comment that he was there, and that he see/knows a Piper Cub in the pattern too who isn’t talking.

Oh, so you think you'll get a relay from another aircraft about 3rd aircraft in the pattern than doesn't have a radio? Not to mention all the excess radio squelch that comes with the ATITPPA calls?

So here’s the thing…when I do an operation I infrequently do, I take a little bit of time to review it and do it right. If Air Line Pilots like you are really so much better than I am, taking pride in your work and doing things the right way is obviously worth the small amount of effort it takes to review nontowered airport procedures and not say literally the single phrase the FAA says is not to be used.

Whoa whoa who, he’s not Air Line…he’s Alaska(n)…don’t you put that on us!

That assumes everyone is operating like I am. I assume I’m dealing with the lowest common denominator out there.

Whataboutism.

Quoted for emphasis:

Because the AIM explicitly tells you not to use it, that’s why.

Aeronautical Information Manual section 4-1-9(g)(1) states:

“Pilots stating traffic in the area, ‘please advise’ is not a recognized self-announce position and/or intention phrase and should not be used under any conditions.”

Bottom line, it’s wrong

You do not know better than the AIM. Be an adult and admit you’re wrong.

What did I claim to be right on?

It started with me saying “meh, I’d rather “ATIAPA than not.”

Which is purposefully an open statement. That I don’t do it all the time and not do I claim someone else is wrong for doing it or not doing it.

And you didn’t answer the regulatory book question.

The AIM says “don’t do this”.

You say “I’m going to do this because…something something something”.

"Air Line 213 is vacating FL umpty-ump."
"(annoyed) roger"

I'll do it again. And not ask any traffic to please advise, because I've been listening to the common traffic ADVISORY frequency and know where the airplanes that are radio-fitted and remembering to be on the right frequency and transmitting are, indeed, 'advising.'
