Say what you will, Jerry never did this…

I don’t even know if that would help. A 709 is essentially a checkride that can be prepared for. This guy experienced a minor unexpected situation and freaked out and almost killed a bunch of people.
If the FAA is investigating and chooses a 709 or recurrent training instead of enforcement, i would expect it to include discussion of aircraft systems and pilot judgment/decision making. (Yes, a ground oral 709 is a thing.)

Couldn’t hurt.

Every option was available, and he chose the worst one outside of just pushing forward on the yoke and putting it straight in to the dirt.

Every other option would have been good EXCEPT the one he chose 🤦‍♂️

Wonderful thing about having ADSB on the panel - you can see if someone appears too close behind you, and act accordingly.

Would that have helped in a case like this, though? Since the Grumman appeared to have a complete electrical failure, presumably their ADSB-out wasn't working, assuming they had it installed in the first place.

He’s talking about the first plane seeing someone about to land on top him

I understand that, but the plane about to land on top of him apparently had a complete electrical failure, so its ADSB-out presumably was not working. So unless I'm misunderstanding how ADSB works, the Grumman wouldn't be visible to other aircraft via ADSB.

Ah yes good point. Does Sentry run off plane power or is it battery/ipad powered?
