Rumor Mill: SkyWest mins lowered

First year pay is low, but after that it's better than average by far. I think their trouble getting enough people is based on their rapid expansion and needing to hire a TON of pilots.

I chose to come to my current employer in part based on first year pay ($24/hr). No way could I go into debt just starting my job.

Keep in mind, Skywest didn't just start paying people in training because they were "nice guys" IMO. Same goes for pinnacle.

The agreement doesn't apply to the transition program. It only concerns ATP instructors who have at least 850 TT, who by that time should have at least 600 multi hours. What's the uproar about?

You tell 'em, Kyle! LOL

Even with these "reduced" mins, that is still takes time to get. I personally do not see the big deal. There are other carriers with minimums lower than that already.

Just out of curiosity, can somebody rank order (by seniority) these for me?

PSP/FAT are always junior on the bro. All the little cali cities take about 4-6 months to get into. SLC is about 2 months. PDX is anywhere from 3 months recently to 9 months normally.

I'm too lazy to look at the RJ side.

Last I heard most newhires on the jet are going to SLC (i.e it's junior) ...
