Not a knock on you, but this is exactly what lack of any communication from the union leads to. Someone posting what they heard online that spreads through the pilot group like wildfire as if it was the truth handed down from the Almighty.
This isn't something that Cruise - "heard online". In fact- it's straight from the horses mouth. I understand people want to know what it going on, but what the company put out initially explained everything. The software wasn't respecting the displacement caps. That is all. I agree with Cruise: Why put out an inaccurate award? The timeline will be pushed back and no one will die, I promise. With that being said, I understand that this is a VERY contentious award- and rightfully so- it has A LOT of movement.
I agree with working with the company... to an extent. Remember, this is the same company that kept dragging out contract negotiations with the 9E side of the house. Dropping hints of the f-word at 9E while 9L took delivery of new Q400s... The list is too long to write.
Wouldn't you agree that the 9E 2007 is different than 9E of 2011? Isn't PT management in our past? I believe Captain Menke is doing a nice job so far playing nice, but also making management changes where needed. i.e. DS. I would have loved to have been in the boardroom when they showed a snapshot of Pinnacle, Colgan and Mesaba to Menke on day 1.
Pinnacle MGT: I think we are in a good spot, our pilots average 92 hours a month with 10 days off. We JRM daily.
Colgan MGT: We are in super shape. We are a little overstaffed we think. Pilots avg 99 hours a month with 7 days off. We JRM hourly.
Spanjers: *Vommits.*
Menke: (glares at Trenary) Really, Phil??"
