Realignment Round 2 at 9E

Not a knock on you, but this is exactly what lack of any communication from the union leads to. Someone posting what they heard online that spreads through the pilot group like wildfire as if it was the truth handed down from the Almighty.

This isn't something that Cruise - "heard online". In fact- it's straight from the horses mouth. I understand people want to know what it going on, but what the company put out initially explained everything. The software wasn't respecting the displacement caps. That is all. I agree with Cruise: Why put out an inaccurate award? The timeline will be pushed back and no one will die, I promise. With that being said, I understand that this is a VERY contentious award- and rightfully so- it has A LOT of movement.

I agree with working with the company... to an extent. Remember, this is the same company that kept dragging out contract negotiations with the 9E side of the house. Dropping hints of the f-word at 9E while 9L took delivery of new Q400s... The list is too long to write.

Wouldn't you agree that the 9E 2007 is different than 9E of 2011? Isn't PT management in our past? I believe Captain Menke is doing a nice job so far playing nice, but also making management changes where needed. i.e. DS. I would have loved to have been in the boardroom when they showed a snapshot of Pinnacle, Colgan and Mesaba to Menke on day 1.

Pinnacle MGT: I think we are in a good spot, our pilots average 92 hours a month with 10 days off. We JRM daily.
Colgan MGT: We are in super shape. We are a little overstaffed we think. Pilots avg 99 hours a month with 7 days off. We JRM hourly.
Spanjers: *Vommits.*
Menke: (glares at Trenary) Really, Phil??"

I can see how you think that, but I didn't mean that he 'heard it online'... I meant that it was something he heard that he posted online. My bad.

In light of that, my original statement still stands. No communication from the union ends up spreading through the internet and the pilot group like wildfire.

All I want to know is why do we have to resort to public message boards or digging through individual corporate websites to learn that the software isn't respecting the displacement caps rather than getting something directly from the union on the matter.

Yes, I would... read the rest of what I wrote...

However, I also understand that the upper management that did all of those nasty deeds is gone (for the most part). That being said, we need to 'draw a line in the sand' and stand firm or the company will continue to push us around on items that are even more important than just a simple realignment.

It has almost been a year since our joint TA... About 8 months since we ratified the JCBA. Even though the day-to-day operations are still separate for now, I am still seeing an extremely large lack of unity on the union level. For this merger/acquisition/whatever you want to call it to suceed, we must be unified and stop seeing ourselves as separate operations at the union level.

I agree 100%. I hear plenty of lip service when it comes to one company, one contract, etc, etc. But, when it comes down to it, each union (and as of right now, it VERY much seems to be three separate ALPA locals right now) still fights for their own pilots. If I suggested we drop the quotas to make it easier on the company since vacancies would be pretty straight forward, XJ and 9L guys would go BALLISTIC. Some 9E guys (particularly the ones in MSP) would as well. It's gonna be 5 years before we're truly "one company" due to the past loyalties. I'm still waiting for the day some super senior MEM guys has to fly with one of the old school XJ guys after the years of corporate fostered hate between the two....

Hey Ctab.

LEC 128 just sent out a copy of the memo posted on the company website. I think they heard ya. :)

And to think we are less than a week away from being a combined LEC...

:banghead::banghead:

No wonder there were 9E guys voting for XJ reps...

You do realize I was joking. I have no clue if a 130 message went out or not as I haven't been in that LEC since April.

Anyone else having issues with crewweb at 9L?

The Pinnacle corporate site is down for me. Guess it is due to them moving the servers to downtown Memphis this weekend.

If the award does get published this weekend, any chance those of us at 9E can get it from our brethren at 9L or XJ?

No! It's for our eyes only! You must stay in realignment purgatory!

Of course we'll try and get it to you if you can't see it.
