RAH E190 Rates

I stay away from these sites anymore, for obvious reasons. But I'm going to chime in here with a few words.

First of all, there is no reason to get fired up at the RAH pilots. The company has been involuntarily displacing pilots to staff the 190. Yes, the line to fly the 190 at these rates has not been very long. I missed the 190 displacement by 1 number - thank God. When you're involuntarily displaced, you either go, or you go home. So relax.

Second, the IBT is working on the new CBA. Before you start throwing pitch forks, lets keep in mind how long PCL has been in negotiations for example. These things don't happen overnight...even an issue as pressing as E190 rates - do not happen overnight. The local 747 in their defense, have been working their asses off. We continue to receive weekly updates. The negotiations have apparently stalled on the very section of PAY RATES. Again, as mentioned before, the company wants to play the "But its 99 seats" game. No go. The IBT is preparing to fight this until the end.

Sometimes I think some of you folks spend WAY too much time on these computers and message boards, that you lose touch with reality. The reality is, the planes are here, the contract is still being negotiated and will not be settled on anytime soon. Thats a fact of the airline business. I'm sorry if that upsets your balance. We (the pilots at RAH) can not do anything but fly when told to fly. I can't afford to quit my job and I don't think anybody here can do that right now. We would have no place to go. "But you could all walk off the job" - thats illegal. We need the Union to lead the way - and they are.

In fact, it may not be a terrible thing to have negotiations continue to drag on. This will allow us to fully integrate with our Frontier and Midwest brothers/sisters and we just very well may have a hell of a lot more bargaining power with the likes of a well educated, well experienced group of mainline pilots in our ranks. In fact, I really look forward to having Frontier and Midwest pilots bring what they have to offer.

Patience folks....please don't throw eggs at my Embraer windshield just yet...:)

That would be the man who some how had a connection there and got on with barely 500 hours.... Back when it still required over 1000 to get looked at... How he pulled that one off I have no clue....

Yeah no one knows how he pulled that one off.

What will you think if you hit the street, and more flying gets placed with RAH due to their plane they fly.... Would you just sit back and say its ok? Or let alone, we all know you want to fly the 777 one day, thus your old screen name. Do you think it's acceptable to fly a plane that is comparable to that plane, for a less rate (Midwest flying 717, now 190 being flown by RAH) and worry about a payrate later? But during the time inbetween you are making only half of what you SHOULD be making (Compare FO rates at RAH/Midwest on barely now tops out at 45, the other was 100)?

In addition I have gotten calls from you on this very issue. When it happen, the first call I got on my called ID was, "Marcus." ;) Remember that ;) and how annoyed and hot you were about it ;).... Has your boy Keith gotten to you or something?

I thought the whole thing was funny, but I was never annoyed or hot bout the issue. I tend not to worry about things I don't control, especially if I don't work at that airline. We got people from other airlines with pitchforks and fire screaming at RAH pilots like they can walk off their jobs or something. Let the people at RAH do their thing, and when their TA comes out and the pay is still low, then you can resume your screaming. Until then, chill homie.

Are you still all bent out of shape about that? Its called connections and networking.

If I got hired with his time I would be a mid level Captain instead of an FO barely holding onto a line.

1. Enough FOs say "enough" I'm not flying an E-190 for what I was making before in a 50 seat jet and nobody bids.

That'll never happen. Id imagine management could pay less than the current crap rate and still have plenty basement dwelling 20 somethings lining up to sling gear. We all need to figure out a standard pay per seat ratio that everybody can adopt, and then let efficiency determine overall airline costs.

Absolutely disgusting. And this guy Bedford pretends to be a religious person? What a freaking joke. I make more as an XJT FO flying a 50-seater than these pay rates flying an E190!!! Grow some balls over there.

Religious? What does that have anything to do with anything?

Jesus...

Not mad at the RAH guys/gals. They have no say in this. My concern is at mngt for offering that POS scale for the 175/190 rate. As a 50 seat FO you will top me at $4/hr. WTF? I'm sure the IBT is working hard. Let's all calm down and see what the union is going to do. RAH gang, it's your time to shine. Step up please.

Starry eyed SJS kids are a thing of the past here. Everyone on the bottom of our list has had a rough 2 years since we've been here. Between furloughs, displacements and reserve abuse - trust me, our FO's aren't walking about just "happy" to be here.

The issue with your post is that its not realistic - in fact, the majority of you are not realistic. As I said before, we have no options, short of quitting, to change the pay rates. The only choice we have, is to vote on a TA. Until a TA comes to vote, the RAH pilots are just along for the ride.

How long ago did Colgan vote in ALPA? Where is their contract? Why are their rates still the same? Why are their pilots not ridiculed? Union negotiations take TIME. Management doesn't want to pay any of their employees better rates. Those rates everyone wants to see, take time.

I just figured out who they were talking about. haha! I have to tell him that he " got the internet going nuts!?" I'm sure he'll get a kick out of that!:rotfl:

Man, wish your guys would talk to some of our guys about "reserve abuse" and how not to fall for the "You should just be happy you have a job" line a lot of guys feed them. We haven't furloughed, but we had management guys telling the junior FOs that if they voted "no" on the TA, they'd be on the street. Here we are a week later, and the furlough announcement still hasn't come. Hmm....

I hope republic starts hiring. Im sure Ill see at least a 20 number gain in seniority over at Colgan over people leaving for you guys.
