Radio Call - your opinion

"Garcon? This carpaccio of beef is just a wee bit rare for my tastes..."

Clearly, it's a worthy goal.

Yeah but who counts except the teenagers.

Quality over quantity, my friend ;)

You know, considering some of the lameness of the dining choices around some of the layover hotels, I'd almost welcome a Sizzler.

Cheap steak, salad bar, pure nirvana.

I'm off to Sizzler, Mr. Richypants!!
:)

Is "Hometown Buffet" a real place?

Sizzler I recognize, and like. Golden Corral is up there... Ryan's... and now there's Fire Mountain... all good in their own right. I've just learned to never order steak from them. :)

No, I haven't flown into Arlington Muni. What's your point? Is Arlington the exception to the AIM that makes its guidance invalid?

Easy. You flat out missed it. I said nothing about GKY being contrary to the AIM (or the FARs or FAA legal counsel opinion yadda yadda yadda). You said that the guy 20 miles out would use common sense from the traffic calls in the pattern to determine the correct runway. My point was that isn't always the case. I'm afraid you are trying to pull an arguement where there really isn't one.

But I do agree with most of the other people. The AIM isn't regulatory, but it does have some damn useful information that people with common sense should follow.....

Without going back to reread the thread, I think I'm pretty safe in saying you might be a bit confused. I didn't say that. :)

OK, I'll go back and look.... bob loblaw said it. ;)

Hmmmm.... and now, upon further review I see that your comment about GKY was directed at bob loblaw, and not me. If anyone was confused, it was me. Shut my mouth...

See there, folks. I was wrong. And I'm the first to admit it. I'm sorry kellwolf, I should have aimed before I fired that one. :o

(Y'all won't tell my wife I was wrong, will ya? :) )

I herby nominate John for "Best Thread-Relevant Smiley Usage".

As for AIM vs. reality: How's about crossing midfield for downwind? Good argument to be made that it's safer than the AIMs recommendation, particularly at a busy non-towered field like GKY.

If she's anything like my wife, she already knows. It's like she has a Hubby-Screwed-Up radar or something.

Wait. Who said what? I'm confused, too. :)

Jim's got a point on the whole entry thing (great ANOTHER thread....)

Remember K'Bob's on Iron Mountain Road across from the mall in Bisqit?
