How often did you have to fly that published missed?

Just once, but we have an FAA-approved single-engine extraction procedure that we use in lieu of the missed. It's basically the same thing with an earlier turn.

Yes but if you are on a direct entry heading of 30 degrees or less, I would call that a vector to final....

I wouldn't call it a vector to final unless ATC has called it a vector to final.
