I agree, but I think it all comes down to the training. They can only have so many people can be down there in training at once, so they have to drag it out.
They need 17000 controllers, but I don't think there are that many seats in OKC.
Who knows really. I'd like to to think they are doing it the best possible way, but that isn't always the case either.

It would help a ton if they set up more than one academy I think. I know that it would cost a LOT to set that up, but it would speed up the process significantly I would think, and with all the controllers retiring, they should have little issue finding experienced people to do the training. There are other benefits to having more than one location, but since it likely won’t happen, it's probably a waste of time to type them out. :P

There is still a bottleneck. They can not flood a facility with 40 newbies at one time. Therefore, they have to spread it out.

It is a drink called the Three Wise Men and a Dirty Mexican. But I have drank JC straight because of one of my drinking buddies that got KIA, he used to put away JC like it was water. In memory of him, when ever I drink, i have at least one shot of JC for him. And the JW is best in black.

I'm so sorry about your friend. I'm sure that he'd be duly proud of the drinking customs he influenced.

I know the 3WM&DM drink you mentioned, but I was never a mixed drink fan, anyhow, unless it is a LI Iced Tea.


I'm curious what other folks on this forum drink. Here is my assessment:

Chichi only likes wine, or champagne. She can stomach a Sam Adams, but she's picky with beer. She "doesn't really drink".

Honu likes Appletinis, Smirnoff Ice, and Sex on the Beaches. She gets drunk off of exactly 35% of a single Mai Tai. She might even like Natty Light, or Milkwaukee's Best.

LeftyLasVegas drinks PBR, and Jägermeister. He frequents O'Shea's on the Strip, for beer pong.

Raydon drinks Guinness, but he settles for cheap Mexican beer, like Tecate. He gets drunk off of two beers.

Rosstafari drinks...oh, Hell, that's a hard one. I'm going to go for Corona, because he probably likes Sam Adams or Newcastle, but doesn't like the price. Maybe he likes JD.

ATLTracon drinks Heineken, and proclaims that it is the best brew in the world. In fact, he says there is a 100% washout rate for those who don't imbibe it.
 
I seriously wish the FAA would read these posts...maybe they'd have some perspective when they're lazy and give us outrageous waiting periods.

He probably would. Marines are funny like that. But he once told me that he was not to be remembered with any sadness, if he died in battle he died protection the freedom of those back home. Ooh-Rah! Devildog.

And as far as what i drink. I like IL Iced Teas, 3WM, Adios Mofo's, straight doubles of rum, straight singles of 151, MGD, Gunniness, Bailey's and Captain and Coke
 
well since I wasn't included in the "what do you drink" portion of this thread I figure ill just add my self anyways. I drink WATER :sarcasm:. I love patron (shots not on ice my name is'nt TI) when its available when not ill take some Absolut vodka and OJ, or Rum and coke and when thats not available ill drink piss water miller. Thinking of drinking makes me want to :drool:. then when i drink i get :rawk:&:panic:. then ill prolly do something dumb like :bandit:. wake up the next morning :banghead:. ahh good times good memories:D. cant wait to meet you guys hopefully in the academy at the same time as me so we can get :crazy: together.

You need to branch out from the Absolut -- there are so many better, cheaper Vodkas out there, i.e. Finlandia, Svedka, Chopin, etc...if you want to splurge, Skyy......

Actually, I recommend Skyy to all Academy students. No hangovers.
