PUBNAT3

The man with whom I spoke asked for my name and then he used that to look up my information on the computer. It sounded like he was looking up the status my my geographic preference e-mail. When he saw that I hadn't been sent one yet I could hear him asking other people in the room why it had not been sent out. I heard some discussion in the background (no one seemed to know why) and then he came back and said I should hold on while he made some phone calls to see what the story was with PUBNAT3. He was very friendly and helpful.

I don't think giving your name out can hurt at all...unless you're constantly calling, you're rude, or something like that.

I meant calling the tower itself, not the FAA Careers dept. Sorry for the confusion.

I was just on the phone with aviation careers division for a while. They kept me on hold while they called around to some other folks there to find out what we want to know. Very useful information:

Our AT-SAT was going to be considered for the panels this week, but the scores came in late so we aren't (what rotten luck).

We are going to be considered for panels that will meet on either the first or second week of November. He did not know which week or when terminal and en route are. Just that that is when panels will be held.

So our geographic preferences and referral lists will be out to correspond with that panel.

Thank you SO much for this. You are so lucky that you weren't railroaded around, dismissively, as we all usually are.

The wait is so much more tolerable for me when the final destination is in sight.

Technically, we should get our geo. prefs. e-mails by Friday, Sept. 26 (max.), which would leave roughly six weeks before the 2nd week of November. So, we should all know if we're considered "in" or "out" (referral list) by Friday, Oct. 17ish. NOT BAD, FELLAS!

I just got off the phone with this very rude young lady and i asked if they had a date when they might starting sending out the geo pref email's and she "no you just have to wait whenever it comes out it comes out". looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Well, here's to hoping we get our geo prefs either in the next half hour or tomorrow, otherwise another news less weekend! I know it doesn't really do us any good in the grand scheme of the timing of it all, but at least we feel then that another step is behind us!!!

Well, as the waiting continues, I am finishing up my dispatcher classes...I'm going to get into the aviation field one way or the other....can't come soon enough.

With the number of applicants starting to pile up, be it CTI, VRA or OTS...I wouldn't expect a geo. pref. e-mail until after the PUBNAT2 applicants have received their selection notices for an interview.

Even if by some chance they do send out the location preference e-mail early...you will still have a VERY LONG wait ahead....waiting for the 2nd announcement applicants to finish PEPC processing and getting class dates assigned.

In short---dont expect it next week!

No way. PUBNAT2 isn't getting interview notices until the second set of panels are done, and that usually takes a week. If we didn't get our geo preferences until then, we wouldn't have time to submit them before our panels at the start of November.

We already know our timeframe, Trident.

I think Trident was more so trying to say that even after panels, and you get selected, it will still be a very long wait. You got 07' applicants who went the PEPc process who are just now getting class dates, and PUBNAT1 who are being told that they won't see OKC up to as late as April. I think it mostly depends on what facility you are picked for. So if i do get picked, I am headed to the first PEPC offered no matter where it is at, so just maybe i can miss the already backlog of applicants.

LOL, obviously. :p

It's just annoying that he's coming down on us for having a few posts where people are excited because we have our geo prefs/referrals/panels in less than two months. :whatever: That's a lot of good stuff happening fairly quickly. :D Even if it's a long wait, are we not allowed to be excited that things are moving along?

I mean, PUBNAT2 started three or so threads all about just their referral lists. Which were obviously going to come out anyway since panels were about to meet. I think we're being plenty patient here, just anticipating the next step a little bit.

Yeah the class date issue is facility-dependent to a large degree.

Me, too. :nana2:

Until then, I'll keep busy with Air Traffic Chaos!

That's only because those people are idiots like a majority of internet forum users. They open a page look at the first three threads and think, "Well no one else has started a thread so I will!" These are the same people who don't understand the concept of the search function and expect us to leap to their aid...

And now they're going to be looking at computer screens and directing aircraft...

Sounds like a bunch of mindless pessimism to me. That would mean the November panels were being held for seemingly no one. Besides, if we truly did need to wait for class dates to be assigned before we get geo. prefs., then why did PUBNAT2 receive theirs already? Sorry, DOES NOT COMPUTE.

There may be some major scheduling issues, but I still know we'll be done our PEPCs by the new year.

Agreed.

Be excited – we've already made it nearly half-a-year through this process, we did well on our tests, and we're ahead of four other announcements. We have almost the best position out of anyone.

Random question.

I've heard mention that I should receive a notice on my ASAP saying I wasn't selected to take the test for future announcements? My ASAP is unchanged since my test score was posted for PUBNAT3, and I know PUBNAT4 has received their ATSAT notifications and such. Should I be concerned, or is this the common status quo?

I just want to make sure I'm continuing to be considered.
