PUBNAT3

well some pubnat2 people are starting to get may, june, and i think someone even got an august date as well. so there may be some of you in there at the end, but i think a majority of you will be aug, or after. but when you know all your crap from the PEPC is cleared dont stop annoying your rep till you get a date. let them know you will take a date even with 1 day notice.

Plus there's still the PUB2 LA PEPC later this month. I wouldn't quit my job quite yet. That's good advice though about bugging the crap out of your HR rep. I think that I had to push mine on about every step.

Grrrrrrr....

I wonder if we could hound someone to pull some strings and get in on the LA PEPC. How much is it gonna suck to have to fly across the country weeks after a PEPC 20 min away.

I doubt that could happen. They probably have had the next few PEPCs planned for quite sometime.

Well yeah I know it could never happen. Just wouldn't hurt so much if it weren't so close I could taste it.

So should we assume that the "hypothetical" NY Pepc in February is out of reach for Pubnat3 and Pubnat4?

Since we wont be getting our offers until a few days prior to February at best, I'm guessing we have no real shot at getting this PEPC based on time constraints.

I'm on the East Coast, so this was my one shot at a PEPC I could drive to, but I'll assume its a bust unless someone tells me different. :banghead:

PUBNAT2's email after panels did say there would be later PEPCs in February and March. No one from PUBNAT2 has been contacted for those yet, I believe. So they could tell us and the PUBNAT2 stragglers with the same amount of forewarning.

How much time does prepping for the PEPC take? I haven't really been following those threads. You just have to do E-QUIP, which is a big computerized paperwork thing, right?

Taken from the PUBNAT2 thread:

"Congratulations! You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Miami International Air Traffic Control Tower (MIA) in Miami Florida.

The next step in the process is for you to decide if you would like to accept or decline this offer and if you accept which procedure you would like to use to complete your pre-employment processing. Your options are:

1. Pre-Employment Processing Centers (PEPCs). This is an expedited method of processing that includes your interview, security screening, medical evaluation, psychological evaluation and drug test. All of these activities are completed in one day (approximately 7 hours from the time you arrive). If you choose to attend a PEPC, please be advised that all travel costs incurred will be at your own expense.

2. “Traditional” Non-PEPC Process. This process begins with you being scheduled for an interview at an FAA facility location close to where you live. If you have successfully completed your interview and are recommended, the Aviation Careers Division will provide you with the information required to schedule the remaining pre-employment processing steps.

We have scheduled PEPCs for the week of November 17-21st in Kansas City, MO and the week of January 26-30th in Los Angeles, CA. All terminal candidates will be processed on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of those weeks. We will be processing approximately 50 candidates per day; therefore we may not be able to accommodate everyone at this time.

We will be scheduling PEPCs in February and March. If you want to attend a later PEPC we will let you know the dates and locations as soon as possible.

What you need to do today or not later than the close of business on October 20, 2008, respond to this email with the following information:

1. Decide if you would like to accept or decline this offer. If you decide to decline the ATCS position being offered, let us know. This decision must be in writing. If you want to discuss issues related to your future eligibility for other facilities, you need to contact the Aviation Careers Division at -------------.

2. Review your contact information provided above (name, address, phone numbers, email address) and provide any corrections or updates. If you have not updated your information in ASAP, you need to do so in addition to providing corrections to us for the interview process.

3. If you would like to attend the Kansas City PEPC, please let us know your date preference: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday - November 17, 18 or 19.

4. If you would like to attend the Los Angeles PEPC, please let us know your date preference: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday – January 26, 27 or 28.

5. If you would like to proceed with the “Traditional” Non-PEPC process, let us know and we will get you scheduled for an interview near where you live.

6. If you would like to attend a future PEPC, let us know and we will notify you as soon as the final details have been worked out.

We will acknowledge your response by return email. If you choose one of the PEPCs, we will confirm your reservation in that email. Another message will follow from our PEPC coordinator with your appointment time and additional information you will need, forms to complete, etc.

We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible and definitely by Monday, October 20. Remember: The earlier you respond to this message, the better your opportunity will be for attending the Kansas City or Los Angeles PEPCs.

Please let us know if we can be of any assistance."

I am on the referral list... I put down GA and NY... I have a feeling that I will be picked up for ZNY. I hope not though... ZNY is in the middle of nowhere I think.

So my little one has been singing 'Dr. King, Dr. King, Dr. King was a civil rights leader...Dr. King Dr. king he had a dream'
Too Cute!
Happy MLK day to all!
:laff:

"but does anyone have an educated guess as to how long the remainder of the process will be for us pub3 folk?"

Well, I just heard that umm, they are building a new hiring facility in the middle of OKC. This will be a very new state-of-the-art facility that will be used for all future PEPC appointments. Since the building is not scheduled to be finished until 2014, the FAA will finish all public announcments then.
That's just what I think but who knows.

Happy Hump Day!
Here is to the hope that emails start rolling out this week!
:D

I think they like to send them out on Fridays so they don't have to have 2 days of people calling asking questions (Can I change facilities?). LOL I don't know I'm just guessing..... maybe friday???? :)

Woohoo I got selected for one of the centers I wanted!

I called aviation careers, gave them my social, and a man told me where I'm going.

He said they don't know when PEPCs are yet, but that emails should go out next week.
