PUBNAT3

Well I'm having no luck dropping the Hawaii announcement. The person on the phone didn't seem to understand what I was trying to explain, and said not to drop it and that I might be able to negotiate a place later if I get Hawaii rather than one of my PUBNAT3/4 locations. Which I don't think would be possible, judging from posts here.

I guess there's nothing to be done about it and I'll just have to hope I get picked up for PUBNAT3 or 4 and not Hawaii.

A little late, but I checked yesterday and I'm on it too!!! Congrats to everyone else who made it too!!! Hope to see everyone at OKC soon...

It could be worse you could still be waiting, dropping one of the three is less of an issue.

That's really good to know. Is the ATM the facility manager? I guess maybe I'll try to call them on Monday the 19th, hopefully they'd have it by then.

I left out a crucial piece of information there - he said he usually get's the list about 3 weeks after panels. He was indeed the facility manager.

So I know I should have doing this all along, just to be safe, but I haven't applied for any other apps besides PUBNAT3 and am now getting worried that that will come back to bite me in the butt. I did a search today for any new applications I can apply for, but all that came up were VRA announcments (for veterans), when is the next OTS announcement going to be available? Anyone know?

Pubnat 7 ended a month or so ago. It's really all speculation on when the next one will be.

Stick around here and we'll let you know.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone this week. Hopefully we all get offers for what we want.
So I assume they only offer to people who selected locations where they are in need of people? Is that everywhere basically? I selected En Route but selected 2 level 9 centers, not level 12 like i would think would need the most help/people. You guys think that will come back to haunt me? DO you have a better chance with the bigger places then the smaller ones, even though the smaller centers still have several hundred people?

Unfortunately, no one really knows why some get picked and some don't. It's all speculation on wherher it's based on Geo Prefs and/or score, employment history, some even think Affirmative Action plays a role too. My opinion is to pick somewhere you wanna go and hope you get picked up. If not, try a different strategy in the next round/PUBNAT.

I think of definitely helps if you select both Terminal and Enroute but it's a preference and if you don't like one path than don't select it b/c I don't know of many people have been succesful in changing their mind after their TOL.

Question -

I scored Qualified on the OTS. So, I would like to know if it is better for me to (if I can) go back and re-test. Or, keep trying to apply.

So far I've applied as follows:

Pubnat 2 - made referral list - no call
Pubnat 3 - made referral list - still waiting
Pubnat 7 - waiting

I'm 27 years old and I know the cutoff date is around 30 years or something.

What do you all think I should do?
Thanks.

If you're only Qualified I would absolutely retake it as soon as they give you the chance!

I mean, it can't really get any worse than Qualified unless you fail, which I doubt would happen. You could only go up or stay the same from there.

I hope you make it this time ;however, if after one year from original test date you havent been picked up I'd recommend trying again for a better score now that you know what the test is like I'm sure your score would only increase. You do have to wait one year before you can retake your AT-SAT.

How does that work? Do you have to request to take the test again...or if it's been at least a year do they invite you to take the AT-SAT again once you apply for another PUBNAT?

that is a good question that I dont know the answer to my recommendation would be to contacting the phone number on the end of the application

Calling aviation careers would be my best guess too. You'll probably have to call and requst it after the PUBNAT closes. That way they know to add you to the list of names they send to the company that does the testing. Because I bet if you don't say anything, they will just continue to use your old score.

I just wanted to mention, for those who are worried about the specific facilities that they requested; I've heard that they really only look at the states and kinda don't pay any attention to anything you write.
