PUBNAT 5- Announcement ending 7/31

I got authorized too. For a while I thought I was the only one actually waiting for this PUBNAT. With how slow things are moving now I am mad at myself for not applying earlier. Oh well. Hopefully we can take the test soon!

Omg I just logged in and was ECSTATIC to see I have been Authorized!! Congratulations to everyone else who has been selected as well!! :rawk::nana2::yup:

:yeahthat:

I remember how excited I was 8 months ago when I found out I could take the test. And then I took it. And then there was more waiting. Lots more waiting.

So if the 3/4 guys are just starting to get referral lists now, any guesses as to when we'll finally get moving again?

3/4 guys still haven't gotten referral lists... those are the HI and AK people... although 3/4/HI/AK are all being considered at the panels this month :panic:

5/6 are still testing until the middle/end of January. Wouldn't expect geo prefs for you guys until February/March at the earliest.

At least we all get the chance to spend several months bonding. Maybe we'll make some lifelong buddies out of our common experience of waiting around for a year.

entirely possible. How many people on here know other people who are going to the same center? It would be pretty nice to know at least one person you'll be working with ahead of time.

Hey, what do you all do in Longmont and Ft. Collins?

I'm in Castle Rock.

Are you interested in facilities in CO?

I'm from Longmont and moving back there in the next 6 months but I'm currently stuck in Greeley working retail. Vomit on myself. Yeah, I'd love to get the facility that's actually in longmont, I'd gladly take any option in CO, or even anywhere in the country. But CO is my first choice. You?

My choices are going to be CO and FL (Terminal). I lived in FL for 4 years (school and flight instructing) and I miss it. The wife really wants to get back there too.

I am a "on the street" airline pilot...have lost my job 3 times in the last 6 years due to furloughs and companies going out of business. My dad is an Air Traffic Manager, so grew up around ATC...thought I would try this route...a bit more stable! I am actually hired by a regional airline, but had my class/start date canceled this past summer...waiting for a re-call.

So you are looking at going to Denver Center in Longmont? That would be convenient.

Good luck to you.

CO all over the state was my first choice on all my apps, and I've never lived there. I would probably be cool with anywhere in that state but where would be the more ideal places to live there?

I'm testing for PUBNAT 5 on Jan 12th in BWI. Those tests go until the 16th of Jan from what my email said

Hey, how have you been?

Colorado is really nice. The south side of Denver/Denver suburbs are nice (Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Littleton). Facilities close to these locations are Denver Tower/Tracon, Centennial Tower (fully staffed via my source), and Metro Tower (BJC) to the Northwest of town.

Colorado Springs is a nice place to live too. COS is an up/down facility, Class C airspace.

Castle Rock is between Denver Int'l and Colorado Springs. A bit longer drive to COS than Denver Int'l. About 45 minutes to DEN and hour to COS.

In my own opinion, stay away from Pueblo, south of COS.

Other than those areas, I have never lived in the Mountains. There is a facility in Aspen, but it is a low level up/down and for some reason no adjustment from the basic locality rate of 13 something %. Aspen (and the surrounding area) is an extremely expensive place to live..not too mention visit!

The number of facilities is limited out here compared to other states, but a very nice place to live.

And Denver Center is in Longmont, north of Denver about half hour drive. Nice place...a bit more into the country and farm land type area.
