PSA New Hire FO Classes Suspended

Also, and this is second hand from the other forum... Apparently CLT will be shrinking and all the 200 flying is now going to DCA, PHL, and ORD. Or something to that effect. So for those of you who were awarded TYS and DAY and hoping to hold CLT soon keep dreaming. And for those of us who are on reserve in CLT, it looks like we will be stuck on reserve in CLT for a while longer.

Also, the round 2 lines look horrid this month in CLT. Mostly all low-credit originators. Sucks for those of us who commute.

Yeah they are.

What forum APC?

I think it should have been voted down.

And if you would like to keep making personal digs at me over something I said in haste, then go ahead. Or perhaps you would like to PM me and we can discuss it in private. I would actually love to hear from someone who has been here a lot longer than I as to why you think this LOA deserved a "yes" vote.

Why did it deserve a "no" vote?

He believes the number of flows need to be bigger. The problem is that airline hiring likely does not support a larger number. The assumption that people will all of a sudden wait for AA to call if the flow is 20/month is ridiculous. People will still bail if called by someone else first.

In the end mainline isn't going to suck their regionals dry until they actually need to suck them dry.

Well thanks for putting words in my mouth there bud...

Yes, I do believe the flow should have been more than 5 with a sliding scale to a maximum of 8. Anyone thinking of coming here will look at that and laugh. The numbers say that there is no way that someone hired today should even care about the flow. It's a joke and we could have gotten more. This does not create the overall "defined career path" that AAG has said it wants its wholly-owneds to be.

Management was already treating us like we accepted the TA long before it passed. They have this pilot group by the balls and they know it.

The language in the contract heavily favored the company and was poorly written (again, to management's favor). Our NC looked like a clown show when they realized that they should have received clarification on some of that language AFTER it had already gone to vote.

Most anyone who hasn't been on property a year (that I spoke with) was against it. Why should we have been talking about a flow when the company is already ignoring parts of the contract as it benefits them? I have been hearing of guys getting bypassed for upgrade by DECs (and I know one of these guys personally) and are basically being told "tough •" by management. The company has manipulated things to severely decrease QOL. If a lot of FOs are getting displaced off of half of their trips why aren't we seeking better displacement language to the contract? The new language is awful. Oh I know, it's because those who have spent the last 5 years in this industry consider anyone who shines a light on these things as a "snot-nosed entitled brat" who needs to "pay their dues". Just because it was that way for those of you who came before us, doesn't mean we shouldn't be working hard to improve them now while we have more leverage.

How does the language "heavily favor the company?" Please compare it to the language we had prior to the LOA.

Well, the contract allows for anyone bypassed outside of seniority to be payed captain pay. So either the "guy you know personally" is not qualified for a captain seat, improperly bid, or is lying to you.

What you said.

Sounds like a crock of crap your buddy is telling you.

Yea accept it isn't. He has now been told that he has to wait until the next upgrade bid and he will only get awarded it if he is senior enough. And he was senior enough for the last bid award. The company, "didn't receive" his spreadsheet with his times. So due to an oversight by the company, he was passed over for upgrade. I wouldn't make the story up, and nether would he. He's a stand up guy.

And why would the company do this? They don't gain anything by having this guy stay an FO.

I mean, the ineptitude at which this company has handled just about everything since I've been here would lead me to believe that his scenario is entirely plausible.

I'd be willing to bet it's a little on both sides of this story....We have upgraded hundreds with no spreadsheet issues. The company isn't out to get one guy. I'm not one to defend the company as their shenanigans have become pretty comical at this point but you really paint a pretty grim picture of life here that really isn't entirely true.....on both websites. Do I hate a lot of the stuff they pull? Of course, it is borderline criminal, but that being said I get a crap ton of days off every month and never work a single holiday. You've been here what? 6 months? 8 months? You sound like Eeyore. If it's that terrible leave, you have almost nothing invested here. Go somewhere else and see how rosy it is there.
