PSA New Hire FO Classes Suspended

Not a single one of those bases even sounds like a smart move... From my perspective Nashville sounds the most enticing, but I don't think any of them would necessarily entice pilots to leave their current base.

Nashville used to be an American (or was it TWA?) base. Still lots of infrastructure there. That said, it think that least thing PSA needs is another outstation or MX base. Who knows though.

He said Nashville is the new MX base. I asked him about TYS being so close and having 2 MX bases so close. He said that TYS is not a MX base, but that they do contract MX there.

Also, he said that they need another base ASAP since they're running out of places to park airplanes. Apparently, CLT airport isn't happy with all the airplanes they have parked along the fence.

I've got to admit, this training delay has me discouraged. I'm one of those Dec hires awaiting IOE and probably won't get my consolidation done in time. I've had thoughts of jumping ship, but going to stick it out.

You were hired as an FO in a December class or you were hired as a Direct Entry CA? If your in the December class and still awaiting IOE, that does suck. I'm in the Jan 5th class and so far we've had 4 or 5 start IOE. I believe the majority of those that have started were ones with the prerequisite 121 time to upgrade to CA or prior mil. If you are a direct entry CA then you will have priority over new hire FOs because the company is hurting for CAs right now.

And as far as I know, most of the guys from the November class were able to finish IOE and still get their consolidation time. It was really close for some but I haven't heard of anyone having to retake a PC or anything like that. We'll see though... Tick tock tick tock.

I keep saying it man... JAX is just dying to be a regional base again! And who doesn't want to live in FL huh!?

You'll be fine. They're doing line checks on IOE to give guys an extra 30 days. The last thing they want is to send people back to sims and clog things up even more.

I was hired in the Dec 22 class and I have no prior 121. My sim partner was actually a Jan 5 hire and is going through IOE now (prior 121). They're just pushing guys with no experience back to get the others through to get them upgraded.

Wow, just wow.

So not to be a total dick or anything but if I wanted to make the jump to 121:

How does this whole street captain thing work? And BTW I watched 24 people upgrade, out of seniority when I was hoping to upgrade at another job. So I know it's a mixed bag.
