PSA hiring, again.

PSA.....Plain Shi++y Airline. They don't promote based on merit. They promote on that fact you stayed there at least 6 months. Oh and they dispatch to airshow closures too! If PSA is your first gig.....good luck getting on with a major. I don't think knowing how to use a fire extinguisher is on any of the majors dispatch applicant testing.

Today's best regional is tomorrow's worst, and vice versa. Pretty much same for mainline too
This goes much further that. This is about an absolute inept management. Take a look at the pilot forums, they have nothing nice to say about the place either. It's systemic. Maybe if they cleaned house and had a director and manager who had a clue on what they we're doing, things would change. They have had people there in the past try and change the culture. They are content on running the circus they've developed. Instead, it's all smoke and mirrors. It's not a good first gig. You won't learn how to do anything properly. You won't learn the skills needed to move on to a major. All they care about and want are warm bodies in seats to turn the little boxes green.

are you applying for dispatch or pilot position ?
Dispatch...Will be fresh on the market in August. I must be honest to say that some things I have read in post has worried me. I understand there are a lot of opinions about companies out there and do try to weed things out...but right now I am like a sponge trying to soak everything up about this new career.

well good luck with that ... try not to get yourself over whelmed

9E (endeavor air) has got a good training program and lots of good people up there, but be ready for the cold up there in MSP. With PSA its more on the job training than what you learn in the class room. The fact is that you are learning how to do the job which the important thing.

You're as desperate as a recruiter. You don't learn how to do the job at PSA. You learn how to send releases with the least amount of fuel as possible. There's no training. The comp checks are a joke. It's a real case of the blind leading the blind. It's too late to learn on the job when your license is revoked. Just stay away from there people. I don't know how more plainly it can be said. Go somewhere where you will learn how to do the job the right way.

Please dont add mis-information on here for people who dont know and are deciding about their future. I am not sure if you just dont know the facts or you want to make the up facts to support your case.
Since I have been here no one has ever gotten in trouble for adding an Alt they felt was needed.
600lbs in addition to FAR is not correct and never has been, even when you were here.
Delay code process is changed completely from when you were here.
No one here has lost their license while here.

Every time you talk it is like my grandpa telling me how things were back during the war.

Ok you got me 690

What's a couple pounds among friends?

Btw. How's those Union negotiations coming? Oh right. They're not. Coming up on 18 months with no end in sight. PSA doesn't value it's employees. Stay away.

Just a reminder, regionals are not the only route to a major. I never worked for one. I went the supplemental route right out of dispatch school, dispatching heavy jets internationally. And I'm at a major now. If you do consider that route, just do your homework. There are some good shops out there where you'll get good 121 experience and you'll make more $ than at a regional. Just something to think about...

Does American value this experience?

Well, the FAA has yet to revoke a dispatch license. Send a letter of warning or a suspension of privileges? Sure....but remember, it's the kindler, gentler FAA now.

Although I have never worked there, I have been told by former employees they have a huge culture problem especially when it comes to safe and legal operations. I know the previous management regime was also to blame, but I've also heard so pretty bad stories about their ASAP program and how confidential information gets "leaked" to management and those not on the ERC.

That would concern me----culture is everything at an employer. At the end of the day, experience is experience. Get hired, make some money, start putting your resume out to other carriers (regional, supplemental, major). Use it as a springboard to get the gist of things, dispatch some planes, and cash in on those flight bennies during your time off.
