Props rule

Keep up with that attitude. With the next downturn getting started, you could be stuck there at the regionals for quite a while. Better step up to the challenge instead of being mired in defeatism.

Being stuck here is precisely why I made the choice I did in coming here. I'll leave the complaining about pay rates to the, well, complainers.

...is this the regional forum on flightinfo? Where's Markus, where ya at???

Dude, I was being mostly sarcastic. I'm getting tired of the Props vs. Rj's crap.

I know every company has their issues, but I doubt anything will come close to what goes on at Colgan. Period. Any place would be like paradise compared to that.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Chris Ford. Only difference is, I have experienced working for Colgan and I was ready to leave to a completely different job if I didn't get hired at a decent place. Yeah...its that bad. Makes you forget why you fly.

Why do you think the CIA and the US Federal Government shipped crack and guns to the ghetto back in the... WHOOPS! Sorry guys, I almost slipped and had a Reverend Wright moment, whew! (I'm kidding people, relax, don't taz me bro).

That one had some pucker factor.

Not me! I'm out sick from work and I don't have to chase tail anyway. I've got a cute little girl I'm about to move in with and she's all I need!

Gotta give ya props on that one:nana2: Hopefully I'll be in the same scenario at around 3am:D Peace up, A-town down!

Props because the damage is less if you throw someone who is arguing 24/7 into your prop compared to throwing him in the turbine inlet of a turbofan. You'd totally have to ground that jet for like ever. Just wash that sucka's juices off the turboprop, double check that theres no nicks and off you go!

How many pounds an hour does a Q400 burn in cruise?

Between 2300 and 2700 lb/hr. You can plan on about 1200 lbs burned in the air for a 100 nm trip and about 5000 lbs for a 600 nm trip.

An average groundspeed (depending on trip length) is 290 knots (340 knots during cruise ... so about 1mpg for Kingairer).

Cool thanks! Need to have more fuel efficient TP's !!!!!

How about a comparable CRJ700? Or EMB170?
