Problem

yeah i ll go into a specific forum like generals read all the unread threads then comeback out of it and it still shows all these unread threads.

BTW doug did you get my email?

Firefox 1.0 works fine for me. When the server switch was first made the other day, occasionally I would come back to a forum and just a few of the threads that I had just finished reading would still show as unread. If I would go back to that thread then back to the forum list, usually it would change status (un-bold rather than bold). This was very intermittent (happened maybe 1/2 dozen times over a couple of days). Haven't seen it happen in the last day or so.

FYI

Woops. Just happened again.

I read through 6 or 7 threads in the General Forum, left the site for a while, and when I came back there were 2 of those threads indicating that I had not read them yet.

For a little more detail:

I came back to the General Forum page and this thread was on top, indicating "no new posts". That was correct since I was the last poster at that time.

The next thread down was the "CRJ Crash" thread, and it showed 9 posts with (9) unread. In reality I had read 7 of the posts already, and 2 new ones had been posted.

The next 3 threads all showed (correctly) "no new posts".

The next thread ("To...STL") showed 5 posts with (1) unread, even though I had read all of those posts just 1/2 hour previously, including the 1 that the software thought I had not read.

Strange.

edit: BTW, I had read through new threads in probably 1/2 dozen other forums, and none of them showed back up as "new posts" when I came back later.

I'm also having the same problem over at pilotfamilies, however, not here anymore...

I'm experimenting this morning with a 'downgrade' of sorts. Re-installing the old software in a test directory, running some MySQL commands to bring a backup copy of the forums from a version 6.5 to a version 6.4-compatible structure and seeing if it works or not.

Loads...of...fun...

And the problem at pilotfamilies and the problem at jetcareers are the same problem.

NO....this #$@*^&* website is even more jacked up now!!!!!

just kidding...Its working good for me now, back to normal

Hmmmm.........I just had something similar happen again. Read through all the general forum posts, went to some different sites, came back and a bunch of the posts that I had just read were *bold* indicating that I had not read them.

I'm starting to think that this may be a Mozilla Firefox issue. It happened one other time within the last week, after you had turned back the clock to the old version.

Anyway, Doug, this is really not an issue for me - I'm just trying to give you some feedback to help troubleshoot.....if you don't need additional info just say so.

Maybe I'll download a copy of Firefox to check it out, but I've heard no other problems after the 'rewind'.

It might be hard to duplicate. It's been very intermittent. It's only done it a couple of times since your rollback.

Again, I don't see it as an issue that you need to address. Just wanted to post *symptoms* to keep you abreast if you're working on something that might be related.

Dude... you said 'abreast.'

You're quoting me out of context. What I said was "you abreast". Don't go making this about me now.

Started given me some minor problems about a day and a half ago. When I click on the link to the forums in my favorites a brief white screen that says "URL has Changed!!" pops up then redirects me to the jetcareers.com/forums page. When I try and type in forums.jetcareers.com it just redirects the url to the /forums page. The end result is just that I have to login everytime I show up, not a big deal for me though. I'm runnin Firefox, so I'm guessing it's probably an issue with this platform.

You probably need to update your Favorites link to the current site address. Mine points to: http://jetcareers.com/forums/ubbthreads.php and it automatically logs me in every time and goes directly to the forum page, without any redirect.

Let us know if you need information on how to change the link. Someone here will be happy to help, or I'll take a shot at it (that should be your last choice, though).

The url did change.

The installation was in different directory until earlier this month.
