Pro course now $36,000

good ol piere.. and i think a guy named thomas from eft is going to do the flying.. i know that the school used to have a major problem in the mei course area actually to the point were i said screw it and left that was like 5 months ago but now i think they have it pretty good. i came back and started the ground around 5 weeks ago we had class for 3 then a 2 week brake to study and now one more week also they started another class during the brake time so there are 2 classes going at once which is helpful for the guys who cant keep up or guys like me that want to hear it twice.i think it is a pretty good system. i had thought about going to atp for the rating but when i was thinking about it 2 guys from this school went and both had bad things to say about it. so i think this program is shaping up 6 months ago iwould have told you a different story but i really think piere is taking the right steps to fix the problems oh ff are you still at the school?

Yes you made the right choice going to Aviator as a VA guy. A better bet than your last choice for sure. ATP don't accept the VA benefits so that would have been a bad deal. I think your going to need to be more patient with the MEI though, that causes more problems than the rest of the training put together. The guys who do best seem to be the ones that accept it will take a while and there will be frustrations. The ones that struggle most are the guys who think they'll be an MEI a month after their commercial. Who is doing MEI ground and flying with the MEI candidates at the moment?

The chief pilot is doing the ground school. He's a wealth of knowledge and a really nice guy, I'd like to sit in on his ground school. The senior instructor from EFT is doing the flight training. Again, he has a lot of experience instructing and is a nice guy (I gave him his CFII, but I can't sign off initial CFI's....sort of funny.) The MEI program has sped up a lot from a year and a half ago. Most students are taking about 6 months right now. When I went through the average was a year, the guys before me were even longer.

I am confused by what was said here. Is the program taking 6months to complete or is the MEI takling 6 months to complete?

Well I definately appreciate all the talk, I am also a VA guy and will be attending Aviator or another school at least that will take my VA benefits, I will use them for this flight training being that I am also in the National Guard and can use Tuition Assistance for my college degree.......

I had always thought ATP was VA but after reading this I went back to the site and confirmed they are not, thanks for making me look this stuff up, one thing I learned int he military was knowing where to find the info is more important than knowing the info as it does change quite often due to uncontrolled circumstances.....

THANKS HUGE.................

I would like to add that all of Aviator's Students and Instructors are getting hried at the regionals, some with as little as 500 hours. all while saving around $25,000.00

38K-45K= 7K NOT 23K

Besides Colgan what other airlines are people getting hired at 500 hours. You do know their published minimums are 600/100.

What an idiotic post. Aviator cost me more than what it would have cost at ATP. So...chew on that one.

Yeah, it's ad copy. When the school starts to get a little short of students or timebuilders Mike Cohen, calls for his stooges; like our friends who've posted on this thread. He tells them that what they are going to do is make a post on Jetcareers, telling potential students how awesome everything is at the Aviator. Mike thinks guys like aussieflyer, are too stupid to see through it; that doesn't seem to be right though. Continuing these paid posts (there's another one on the timebuilding thread) just makes people wonder what the school is really like. It just proves my point what this dude is like. He once told me that in aviation, your reputation is everything. Well Mike, you might want to take you own advice and start rebuilding it.

Saving 25k by going to Aviator? No way. You skip math at school CommPilot76, or did Mike tell you to say that? Like SmitteyB, I ended up paying more than I would for ATP. So SmitteyB, how come you busted budget? Was it going over hours or because of the training delays?
