PNCL rakes it in 4Q 2009 (+153% over 4Q 08')

$75 bucks is cute. That will buy an Olive Garden dinner for me and my girl.

(I know I'm preaching to the choir) but you need a real contract with above standard wages. At least $75/hr for 5yr Capt on a 50seater, throw in 20% more for a 90seater (or converted 90 to 76 seater).

I had a $75 hard check in my in box. I grabbed it and cashed it before they change their minds. However, it is what it is: an attempt by management to boost morale by throwing money at the problem....and not much in the grand scheme of things, at that. To be brutally honest, this doesn't even make up for the amount of pay I've lost this month so far on our stupid "15 minute rule." At my pay rate, I make roughly $1/min, and I've overblocked at LEAST 100 minutes worth of flying this month. Unfortunately, they were all on different legs and less than 15 minutes on each leg.

And after all that you still have this. Nice.

I thought the same thing. That's why pay will never go up, no matter what the mins are. There will always be a line of people begging for this job, no matter what crap sandwich mgmt is serving.

People who've gotten to the ATP mins point have gotten most of their SJS sandpapered away. So I disagree about the mins thing.

A bunch of us were talking in our crew room the other day and were trying to figure out which regional has gotten the biggest shaft in the past two years. Our candidates are CMR, PNCL, Mesaba, or TSA. We are biased because we work for OH but some guys came up with some good ones for the other companies mentioned. Good laughs all around.

I'd say as a COMPANY, Pinnacle has come out of this Delta thing relatively okay. The EMPLOYEES at Pinnacle.....that's a bit of a different story. Management has lately been doing everything they can to boost morale except what we want to see: a fair contract and no more flea bag hotels. At least they've finally said that the EconoLodge will no longer be an option. Woo hoo.....

Hell, CMR has had it worse than all of us. I gotta believe TSA is in second, Mesaba third, and pinnacle is fine.

Eh, depends on how you look at it. We took it in the shorts HARD on our non-rev benefits. The Comair guys might complain about their priority, but I'd trade my benes for theirs in a heart beat. That being said, I still think Comair's taken the most beating. I wouldn't term Pinnacle "fine," though. We've taken a couple of decent sized lumps at the hands of Daddy Delta and our own management. Question is were those lumps acts of collusion between the two or individual acts. The whole "we fixed it" comment from PT along with the "paid in full PR campaign for the betterment of morale" makes me wanna burn down buildings. $75? Seriously? Get rid of the damn 15 minute rule, and I woulda made an extra (looks at schedule for this far in Feb alone) close to $200. That's right. I've overblocked 200 minutes, but most were within +15 of block, so I did it for free. Some people call it "de-icing for dollars." We just straight up do it for free 'round here.....

And to make the post complete.....my regional sucks more than yours. :)

Who gets paid $75/hr 5th yr for a 50 seat a/c?

XJT is at $69 for 5 year CA. Not sure if that reflects any pay cuts they took. I know there was at least one. That's what Pinnacle gets on the -900 thanks to an aribitrator. We get $7/hr less on the -200.

Anyone that's wanting to go to Pinnacle right now, I'm telling them to hold out for something better. Compass is hiring now, and some of the other regionals (minus maybe Comair, XJT and Mesaba unless they recall everyone) will likely be hiring sometime this year. If it were me, I'd rather hold out for an extra year for a better regional than get beat down on reserve at Pinnacle for poverty wages. We've had FOs leave the industry altogether thanks to the beating reserves have been getting. Sure, it's not like the glossy ads say at ANY regional, but IMO reserve here is pitifully bad. I'm over guarantee for the month, and they yanked a turn from me yesterday, and put me on airport reserve. Gave the turn to a guy junior to me that WAS on airport reserve....who is under guarantee. AFAIK, we're the only regional that doesn't get some sort of pay credit for sitting RR (and for the most part that wasn't changed in our failed TA), so he flew the turn at no extra cost to the company, and I sat at the airport for 9 hours at no extra cost to the company. If I had flown what was originally on my schedule, it woulda been close to 4 extra hours of pay for me. It was all legal since reserves don't have any rights, and the contract says they can use their reserves however they want. I've still got two more home reserve days left in the bid period, and I wouldn't be a BIT surprised if both of those turn into airport reserves. Wouldn't mind so much if there was a pay credit attached. Hell, I wouldn't even get the $1.40/hr for the per diem.

So, once again: if you're looking at Pinnacle......wait and go somewhere better. Or at least wait and see if we get a better contract sometime this decade.

Damn, that's worse than Mesa. Even Mesa gives increased credit for sitting airport ready reserve. You guys really deserve a better contract.

Shouldn't the airport ready reserve be assigned in reverse seniority order? Thus making that guy sit it before you?

Should, but there's nothing in the contract that says they have to honor seniority in regards to reserves. It says that at the beginning of the month, reserve requests (such as PM or AM reserve) will be honored "to the extent possible." This did NOT change in the TA, either. So, the company has this huge loophole along with the clause that says they can use their reserves as they need to. Essentially, the most senior guy on reserve gets screwed just as badly as the most junior guy.
