PNCL rakes it in 4Q 2009 (+153% over 4Q 08')

Several years ago I agreed to an interview at Pinnacle. About two weeks prior to the interview I decided that it wasn't the place for me and emailed the guy and told him, "Thanks; sorry for the trouble; I won't be coming to the interview." He replied, "No problem. However we're going to need you to send us $50 as a cancellation fee for that Northwest ticket we booked for you."

After reading the email again to ensure I didn't misunderstand it, and then laughing my butt off, I replied that I would not be sending them $50 and I was sure that since the ticket was on their parent company (not sure if that's technically right) I was sure they could re-utilize that seat.

Just thought I'd share.

Wow.

At least Colgan has always positive spaced people to interviews. I remember a buddy of mine going to an AWAC interview and got stuck because they booked him non-rev.

While it's always good news that an airline makes a profit, we have to remember that airline economics is one of the biggest legal Ponzi schemes in the financial world! :)

LOL. Positive space TO the interview, yes, FROM the interview? NOOOOOOOO.

I think in my interview group there were 4 that had to stay another day in sunny cheap LGA an extra day. I know the 3 I met didn't even get a nod on the interview.

I was Pos. space both ways... funny thing, the flight was full, so they tried to get me up in the jumpseat :) (colgan saab). Instead somebody else got to go later.

I had to go to LGA twice (they screwed up my fingerprints) and then to HEF once (they again screwed up my fingerprints) and all three trips I was PS both ways.

Im glad they made money, its good for our negotiating committee.

Even though the Pinnacle, Inc employees did such a stellar job saving the company money by being on-time (#1 on-time regional for most months of the year) and staying in hotels I wouldn't put my own family in during a road trip, I betcha we'll still hear there's not enough money left for certain contract improvements.....as management takes their bonuses to the bank to deposit.

Reading that article, I felt like I was being mugged.

There is a company conference call tomorrow....I'm looking forward to hearing how many times they cry poor.

I dont' doubt they'll cry "poor" baed on teh note we got with our much appreciated 75 dollar bonus check today.

In the note it mentioned that they are goin to be in an advantageous position going into 10' because of having the bad debt paid off, their cash position is currently "tight".

My prediction is that it will remain "tight" for the duration of contract negotiations.

So another 2 or 3 more years of being tight. Well, lets see, the last time they were tight they bought all their shares from NWA, they bought Colgan, they bought 15 Q's, they bought -900's, bonuses for management though I don't know the totals, and they bought a bunch of securities that went belly up.

I'm guessing they'll buy a ton more Q's, give everyone on the management team bonuses and... wait a minute.

Did you guys at Colgan get the lame t-shirts, too? The ones with a check (oddly placed if you're a female) that said "Paid in Full?" Nevermind the fact no one marks a CHECK paid in full....
